Jun 18, 2004

Enrique Teuteló named Texas correspondent for Univision Network

Houston, TX — After 4 years with KXLN Noticias 45 Univision in Houston, news reporter and weekend anchor Enrique Teuteló has been named Texas Correspondent for Noticiero Univision.  Teuteló will now cover the southwest region for Univision Network and will be based in San Antonio.  As news reporter and weekend anchor for KXLN, Teuteló covered such important events as Tropical Storm Alison, the ceremony for Governor Rick Perry and the NASA Shuttle Columbia tragedy, among many others.

“I’m excited about this new opportunity and look forward to building on all the experience I acquired working for Noticias 45.”  Teuteló added, “It’s always an honor to know that your hard work and efforts are recognized.” Deanna Landrón, News Director for KXLN 45, said, “We are all very happy for and proud of Enrique.  He has been a great addition to our news team and he will be missed.  Univision Network always looks for the best and knows that KXLN has great talent.”

Enrique Teuteló is the latest KXLN news talent to join the network ranks. Teresa Farfán, a reporter with “Aquí y Ahora”, and Martín Berlanga, a reporter with Noticiero Univision, were part of the KXLN family before being promoted to Univision Network.  More notably, Teuteló will be filling Berlanga’s former position as Texas Correspondent after Berlanga was promoted to the Noticiero earlier this year.

Enrique Teuteló has been a reporter for KXLN Noticias 45 since May 2000.  Born in La Havana, Cuba, Enrique lived in Bogotá, Colombia, where he completed his Journalism studies.  In 1987, Enrique graduated from the Havana Institute of Economy with a degree in Accounting. In Santa Fe de Bogotá, Colombia, Enrique graduated from the INPAHU Foundation Institute in December of 1998.  He began his career in Journalism as a reporter at KTMD Telemundo in Houston, Texas in May 1999.  Before joining KXLN, Enrique served as a reporter for El Día Newspaper from February through May 2000.  Enrique is married to Colombian-born Sandra Gamboa and has a son, Camilo Enrique.
