The Gala Dazzled with Exciting Surprises, World Premieres and Stellar Collaborations, Perfectly Fulfilling its Theme ‘El Poder de Lo Nuestro’

Miami, FL. – February 22, 2024 – The 36th edition of Premio Lo Nuestro was celebrated today from the Kaseya Center in Miami, the event that was broadcast live by Univision vibrated with a shower of world premieres and historic collaborations. The big winner of the night was Colombian superstar Karol G, who took home 9 awards in the categories, Urban Female Artist of the Year, Urban Collaboration of the Year, Urban Album of the Year, Pop-Urban Song of the Year, Pop-Urban/Dance – Song of the Year.
Carin León, Maluma, Peso Pluma, and Shakira each won four awards respectively. Carin León won the awards in the categories: The Perfect Mix of the Year, Mexican Music – Male Artist of the Year, Mexican Music – Collaboration of the Year and Norteño Song of the Year. His compatriot Peso Pluma won as New Artist Male, Mexican Music -Song of the Year, Mexican Music Fusion of the Year, Mexican Music – Album of the Year. Shakira won 4 awards, including Song of the Year, Pop – Female Artist of the Year, Pop-Urban – Collaboration of the Year, Pop-Urban – Song of the Year. Maluma won in the categories: The Perfect Mix of the Year, Pop – Male Artist of the Year and SPop-Urban/Dance – Song of the Year, Mexican Music – Collaboration of the Year.
Hosted by legendary telenovela actress Angélica Vale, actress and television presenter Clarissa Molina and charismatic star Galilea Montijo, the prestigious awards show featured 18 impactful musical performances that included world premieres, unforgettable tributes, and emotional homages. Artists such as Camilo and Evaluna performed their song “PLIS” for the first time on television. Country music superstar Kane Brown and Mexican music sensation Carin León gave a historic performance with the premiere of their latest musical collaboration “The One (Pero No Como Yo)”. The show also featured Machine Gun Kelly in a one-of-a-kind collaboration with one of the greatest reggaeton legends Don Omar, who set the stage on fire with a special performance of the timeless song “Danza Kuduro”.
The night overflowed with emotion as respected figures in Latin music received special honors. Ana Bárbara, from Mexico, received the “Premio Lo Nuestro a La Trayectoria” for her remarkable career. Don Omar was recognized with the “Ícono Global” award for his role in urban music. Meanwhile, Olga Tañón was honored with the “Premio Lo Nuestro a la Excelencia” for her contributions to Latin music.
Additionally, Gente de Zona paid tribute to Celia Cruz with a heartfelt rendition of “La Negra Tiene Tumbao,” evoking nostalgia, and Ilegales celebrated their 30-year journey with an electrifying performance that energized the crowd.
Another moving moment of the night was when Ricardo Montaner performed his song “Tan Enamorado” in tribute to the late pioneer of Hispanic television in the United States and creator of PREMIO LO NUESTRO, Omar Marchant. As a tribute to his ilegacy, Univision announced the addition of the prestigious award “Visionario de Lo Nuestro”, which starting next year will be granted to an outstanding industry leader who is making a significant impact and promoting continuous progress in this field.

Miami, FL. – 22 de febrero de 2024 – La gran noche de PREMIO LO NUESTRO se celebró hoy desde el Kaseya Center en Miami, el evento que fue transmitido en vivo por Univision vibró con una lluvia de estrenos mundiales e históricas colaboraciones. La máxima ganadora de la noche fue la súper estrella colombiana Karol G, quien se llevó 9 premios en las categorías, Artista Femenina Del Año – Urbano, Colaboración Del Año – Urbano, Álbum Del Año – Urbano, Canción Del Año – Pop-Urbano y Canción Del Año – Pop-Urbano/Dance.
Por su parte, Carin León, Maluma, Peso Pluma y Shakira ganaron cada uno cuatro premios respectivamente. Carin León se llevó los premios en las categorías: La Mezcla Perfecta Del Año, Artista Masculino Del Año – Música Mexicana, Colaboración Del Año – Música Mexicana y Canción Norteña Del Año. Su compatriota Peso Pluma, ganó como Artista Revelación Masculino, Fusión Música Mexicana Del Año, Canción Del Año – Música Mexicana y Álbum Del Año – Música Mexicana. La prestigiosa premiación conducida por la legendaria actriz de telenovelas Angélica Vale, la actriz y presentadora de televisión Clarissa Molina y la carismática estrella Galilea Montijo, contó con 18 impactantes presentaciones musicales que incluyeron estrenos mundiales, grandes tributos y emotivos homenajes. Artistas como Camilo y Evaluna interpretaron por primera vez en televisión su tema “PLIS”. La súper estrella de música country Kane Brown y la sensación del regional mexicano Carin León realizaron una histórica presentación con el estreno de su más reciente colaboración musical “The One (Pero No Como Yo)”. Entre los momentos más emotivos de la noche estuvieron los reconocimientos otorgados a la mexicana Ana Bárbara, quien recibió el “Premio Lo Nuestro a La Trayectoria” como reconocimiento a su exitosa carrera; Don Omar a quien se le otorgó el premio especial “ĺcono Global” por su papel fundamental en liderar el movimiento urbano y la cantante Olga Tañónquien recibió el prestigioso “Premio Lo Nuestro a la Excelencia” en reconocimiento a sus notables contribuciones y su carrera en la música latina. Gente de Zona brindó un sentido homenaje a la legendaria salsera Celia Cruz interpretando su gran éxito “La Negra Tiene Tumbao”. El grupo Ilegales prendió la fiesta con la celebración de sus 30 años de carrera artística.
Otro momento conmovedor de la noche fue cuando Ricardo Montaner interpretó su canción “Tan Enamorado” en homenaje al fallecido pionero de la televisión hispana en Estados Unidos y creador de PREMIO LO NUESTRO, Omar Marchant. Como tributo a su inmenso legado, Univision anunció el establecimiento del prestigioso reconocimiento “Visionario de Lo Nuestro”, que a partir del próximo año será otorgado a un destacado líder de la industria que esté generando un impacto significativo y promoviendo el progreso continuo en este campo.
