MIAMI – SEPTEMBER 14, 2023 – ViX, the world’s leading Spanish-language streaming service, held the world premiere of EL SABOR DE LA NAVIDAD (A Merry Mexican Christmas, working title), the second original movie under the first-look deal between TelevisaUnivision and Salma Hayek Pinault’s Ventanarosa Productions, at the Royal Alexandra Theater on September 13, as part of the special presentations program of the Toronto International Film Festival. The movie will be available on ViX in November. Salma Hayek Pinault was joined at the red-carpet premiere by her Ventanarosa Productions producing partner Jose Tamez, Director Alejandro Lorenzo (“Killing Cabos,” “Sr. Ávila,” and “Control Z”) Executive Producers Billy Rovzar, Jennevie Olivieri-López. ViX executives Rodrigo Mazon and Augusto Rovegno were also in attendance.
Mariana Treviño (“A Man Called Otto,” “House of Flowers”) Andrés Almeida (“Y tu mamá también,” “Ana,” “The Three Wise Kings vs. Santa”), Armando Hernández (“Blood of My Blood,” “Amar te Duele” [Love Hurts]), Juan Carlos Medellín (“Whiskey Cavellier,” ”El Colapso” [The Collapse]), Mónica Dionne (“The Arrival,” “The Wind of Fear”) and Marco Treviño (“Narcos: Mexico,” “Danyka”) star in the Christmas romantic comedy film. Produced by Salma Hayek Pinault and Jose Tamez under their Ventanarosa Productions banner along with Erica Sánchez from Lemon Studios, EL SABOR DE LA NAVIDAD is directed by Alejandro Lozano and written by Tamez.
EL SABOR DE LA NAVIDAD features three parallel stories revolving around Mexico City’s Christmas celebrations intertwine in the film’s finale. In the first story, an estranged daughter seeks reconciliation with her family. In the second, two friends put their friendship to the test when they start working as competing Santa Clauses in Alameda Central Park. In the third, a lonely chef that cooks Christmas dinners for other families confronts her feelings for her kitchen assistant.

MIAMI –14 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 2023– ViX, el servicio de streaming en español líder en el mundo, estrenó a nivel mundial EL SABOR DE LA NAVIDAD, la segunda película original bajo el acuerdo de acceso preferencial (first-look) entre TelevisaUnivision y Ventanarosa Productions de Salma Hayek Pinault, el 13 de septiembre en el Royal Alexandra Theater como parte del programa de presentaciones especiales del Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto. La película estará disponible en noviembre en ViX. Se sumaron a Salma Hayek Pinault en la alfombra roja del estreno Jose Tamez, su socio productor de Ventanarosa Productions, el director Alejandro Lorenzo (“Killing Cabos”, “Sr. Ávila” y “Control Z”) y los productores ejecutivos Billy Rovzar y Jennevie Olivieri-López. Producida por Salma Hayek Pinault y Jose Tamez bajo su marca Ventanarosa Productions con Erica Sánchez de Lemon Studios, EL SABOR DE LA NAVIDAD fue dirigida por Alejandro Lozano con guion de Tamez.
EL SABOR DE LA NAVIDAD presenta tres historias paralelas en torno a las celebraciones navideñas en la Ciudad de México, las que se entrelazan al final de la película. En la primera historia, una hija enemistada de su familia busca la reconciliación. En la segunda, dos amigos ponen su amistad a prueba cuando empiezan a trabajar y compiten como Papá Noel en el parque Alameda Central. En la tercera, una chef solitaria que prepara cenas de Navidad para otras familias enfrenta lo que siente por su auxiliar de cocina.
