MIAMI – AUGUST 25, 2023 – ViX, the world’s leading Spanish-language streaming service, announced today that its new original series CUALQUIER PARECIDO (Any Resemblance) is now available on the service’s premium plan. The comedy stars Camila Sodi (“Rubí,” “Sin huellas” [No Traces], “Enfermo amor” [Sick Love], “Luis Miguel: la serie”), the creator and executive producer of the series, and has the actor and singer-songwriter Jencarlos Canela (“Pasión prohibida” [Forbidden Love], “Gran hotel”, “Telenovela”) as a special guest.
CUALQUIER PARECIDO tells the story of Carlota, who, after separating from the person she thought was the love of her life, discovers that the saying “happily ever after” is not always true, but that doesn’t mean she can’t be happy. Based on real-life events, the series features stories of love and heartbreak, friendship, family, fame and sex, as well as the experience of rediscovering oneself, becoming empowered and starting over, based on real-life situations.
The original production cast also includes Antonio Gaona, Claudette Maille, Valeria Vera, Danny Perea and Danae Reynaud. The series produced by Paramount Television International Studios in collaboration with Argos Contenido Original is directed by Karina Minujin and executive produced by Jaime Ramos and Andrea de laTorre, along with showrunner Natasha Ybarra-Klor (“Oscuro deseo” [Dark Desire], “Ingobernable” [Ungovernable], “Las Aparicio”) who is also the executive producer and creator of the series.
ViX offers more than 75,000 hours of on-demand content and more than 100 streaming channels, all in Spanish. The application has two levels of access, one free and a premium one with a subscription, and is available in the U.S., Mexico and most of Spanish-speaking Latin America, across all major mobile platforms, connected TV devices and on the web at vix.com.
