NEW YORK – JUNE 28, 2022 – Combate Global today announced a stellar, five-fight Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) lineup for Friday, July 1, live on Univision (12 a.m. ET/PT) and TUDN (12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT) from Miami, Fla.
In the featherweight (145 pounds) main event, undefeated Mexican phenom Ramiro “El Cachanilla” Jimenez (5-0) will make his long-awaited return to La Jaula, the Combate Global competition cage, and face off with American submission expert Devante Sewell (9-7).
The 23-year-old Jimenez of Mexicali, B.C. will enter La Jaula for the first time since May 14, 2021 when he sustained a hand injury en route to a quick, first round (1:07) TKO (ground and pound) of Michael Rodriguez.
To date, Jimenez, who was also unbeaten as an amateur competitor before beginning his perfect run as a professional, has notched all but one of his wins via (T)KO or submission.
Sewell is a 26-year-old resident of Villa Rica, Ga. He holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has earned 6 of his 9 professional career wins via submission.
Prior to turning professional, Sewell began competing at the age of 18 on the amateur circuit, where he reeled off an impressive 8-2 record.
In a women’s atomweight (105 pounds) co-main event attraction, Mexican star Ana “La Guerrera” Palacios (6-1-1) will face a brand new test in Korean champion Bo Hyun Park (4-1).

Palacios is a 23-year-old native of Mexico City where she is a member of the fast-growing Bonebreakers MMA team that is also home to reigning Combate Global World Bantamweight Champion David “The Black Spartan” Martinez.
Palacios will look for her third straight win in what will be her first start of 2022, after a pair of strong performances in 2021. In her last effort, Palacios submitted Chile’s Gloria Bravos with a keylock in the second round (1:24) of battle.
Also 23 years of age, Palacios’ opponent, Park, hails from Seoul and is a reigning atomweight champion in South Korea.
Park is an aggressive striker, who likes exchanging punches and kicks with opponents, but is also well-versed on the ground, as evidenced by her last two bouts, each of which she finished with a rear-naked choke submission.
In a featured women’s 120-pound catchweight affair, undefeated, rising star Melissa Amaya (3-0) of Spokane, Wash. will battle hard-hitting Naomi Tataroglu (3-3) of Oranjestad, Aruba.
The preliminary bout card will be topped by the return of 2021 “COPA COMBATE” competitor Carlos Briseño (13-3) of Mexico City. Briseño will square off with Andrew Whitney (16-10) of Miami in a 140-pound catchweight fight.
Also in preliminary card action will be Joey “El Cazador” Ruquet (7-4) of Miami, Fla. Ruquet will face Joe Murphy (8-5) of Huntington Beach, Calif. in a bantamweight (135 pounds) tilt.

NUEVA YORK – 27 DE JUNIO, 2022 – Combate Global anunció hoy una cartelera estelar de cinco peleas de Artes Marciales Mixtas (MMA) para el viernes 1 de julio, en vivo por Univision (12 a.m. ET / PT) y TUDN (12 a.m. ET / 9 p.m. PT) desde Miami, Florida.
En el evento principal de peso pluma (145 libras), el invicto fenómeno mexicano Ramiro “El Cachanilla” Jiménez (5-0) hará su tan esperado regreso a La Jaula de competencia de Combate Global, y se enfrentará al experto en sumisión estadounidense Devante Sewell (9-7).
Jiménez, de 23 años, de Mexicali, B.C., regresará a La Jaula por primera vez desde el 14 de mayo de 2021, cuando sufrió una lesión en la mano tras un rápido nocaut técnico en el primer asalto a los 1:07 contra Michael Rodríguez.
Hasta la fecha, Jiménez, quien también estaba invicto como competidor amateur antes de comenzar su carrera perfecta como profesional, ha anotado todas menos una de sus victorias a través de (T) KO o sumisión.
Sewell, 26 años, es residente de Villa Rica, Georgia. Tiene un cinturón marrón en el Jiu-Jitsu brasileño y ha ganado 6 de sus 9 victorias profesionales por sumisión.
Antes de convertirse en profesional, Sewell comenzó a competir a la edad de 18 años en el circuito amateur, donde obtuvo un impresionante récord de 8-2.

Palacios buscará su tercera victoria consecutiva en lo que será su primera salida de 2022, después de un par de buenas actuaciones en 2021. En su último esfuerzo, Palacios sometió a la chilena Gloria Bravos con una mata leon a los 1:24 en el segundo asalto.
También de 23 años de edad, el oponente de Palacios, Park, proviene de Seúl y es una campeóna reinante de peso átomo en Corea del Sur.
Park es una delantera agresiva, a la que le gusta intercambiar puñetazos y patadas con los oponentes, pero también está bien versada en el suelo, como lo demuestran sus dos últimos combates, cada uno de los cuales terminó con una sumisión.
