MIAMI – JUNE 14, 2022 – Univision’s “Premios Juventud” (PJ/Youth Awards) announced today the nominations for its highly anticipated edition in San Juan, Puerto Rico. For the first time in its history, “Premios Juventud” will broadcast live summer’s hottest bash in la isla del encanto (Island of Enchantment). Under the theme “Celebra Tu Pasión” (Celebrate Your Passion), “Premios Juventud” will continue to recognize the best of Latin music, social causes and pop culture, and this year, PJ added ten new categories to reflect the evolution in music. The summer bash will also mark the grand return of “Noche de Estrellas de Premios Juventud,” the most dynamic and entertaining red carpet show, featuring LIVE interviews, memorable musical performances, and special awards. The 4-hour broadcast will air LIVE from Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot on July 21 at 7 p.m. ET/ 6 CT on Univision.
This year’s “Premios Juventud” will be hosted by an all-star studded group making their debut as PJ host including Eduin Caz, lead vocalist and front man for Grupo Firme and winner of four “Premios Juventud” awards; the popular “El Gordo y La Flaca” co-host and actress Clarissa Molina, previous host of pre-show “Noches de Estrellas,” and backstage host; recognized international actress and singer Danna Paola, who made PJ history in 2020 as part of an unforgettable tribute to Selena Quintanilla’s legacy; and bachata superstar Prince Royce, one of the most nominated artists to “Premios Juventud” and winner of 20 PJ awards.

To reflect the new generations’ passion for music, social causes, innovation, and pop culture, “Premios Juventud” has added ten new categories to this year’s award show. The new recognitions include Female Artist – On the Rise and Male Artist – On the Rise, to honor outstanding young stars. “PJ” will also recognize superstars in the world of acting with the awards My Favorite Actor and My Favorite Actress. The newly created Best On-Screen Couple category will recognize the best onscreen couple in a novela or series. Other new awards include My Favorite Streaming Artist, for the most popular artist on digital platforms; Best Couple Song, for performers who collaborated while they were in a romantic relationship; Tropical Hit, for the best song in this genre; The Best Beatmakers, for the best music producer or DJ; and Best Fandom, for the best fan group.
Global superstars J Balvin and Karol G top the nominees’ list with 11 nods apiece. They are followed by Rauw Alejandro (9 nominations), Farruko (8 nominations), Ángela Aguilar, Camilo and Grupo Firme (7 nominations), and Anitta, Christian Nodal, El Alfa, Maluma, and Rosalía (6 nominations).

MIAMI, FL – 14 DE JUNIO DE 2022 – “Premios Juventud” (PJ) de Univision anunció hoy las nominaciones para su esperada edición en San Juan, Puerto Rico. Por primera vez en su historia, “Premios Juventud” transmitirá en vivo la fiesta más candente del verano en la isla del encanto. Con el lema “Celebra tu pasión” “Premios Juventud” seguirá reconociendo lo mejor de la música latina, las causas sociales y la cultura pop y este año se añadieron diez nuevas categorías para reflejar la evolución de la música. La celebración del verano también marcará el gran regreso de la “Noche de estrellas de Premios Juventud”, el espectáculo de alfombra roja más dinámico y entretenido con entrevistas EN VIVO, actuaciones musicales memorables y premios especiales. La transmisión de 4 horas se emitirá EN VIVO desde el Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot el 21 de julio a las 7 p.m. hora del este y 6 hora del centro por Univision.
“Premios Juventud” será presentado por un grupo de estrellas que debutarán como anfitriones principales de PJ, e incluye a Eduin Caz, vocalista principal y líder de Grupo Firme y ganador de cuatro “Premios Juventud”; la popular actriz y copresentadora de “El gordo y la flaca” Clarissa Molina quién en el pasado ha presentado el programa de antesala “Noches de estrellas” y fue conductora backstage; reconocida actriz y cantante internacional Danna Paola quien hizo historia en PJ en 2020 como parte de un inolvidable homenaje al legado de Selena Quintanilla; y la superestrella de la bachata Prince Royce uno de los artistas más nominados en la historia de “Premios Juventud” y ganador de 20 premios PJ.

Los nuevos reconocimientos incluyen Artista Femenino – On The Rise y Artista Masculino – On The Rise, para honrar a estrellas jóvenes sobresalientes. “PJ” también reconocerá a las superestrellas del mundo de la actuación con los premios Mi Actor Favorito y Mi Actriz Preferida. La recién creada categoría Me Enamoran reconocerá a la mejor pareja en pantalla en una novela o serie. Otros nuevos premios incluyen Mi Artista Favorito de Streaming, al artista más popular en las plataformas digitales; Mejor Canción en Pareja para artistas que hicieron una colaboración mientras estaban en una relación romántica; Tropical Hit, a la mejor canción de este género; Los Mejores Beatmakers para el mejor productor musical o DJ; y Mejor Fandom al mejor grupo de fans.
