Premios Juventud’s 15th Edition Sets a Record with More World Premieres, Superstar Talent, Genres and Social Advocacy than Ever in the History of the Biggest Music Event of the Summer
Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, Maluma, Ozuna, Becky G and Natti Natasha topped the bill of mega-hit-makers, crossover and international artists and rising stars, many performing together for the first time
The four-hour celebration of youth culture aired live on Univision Network on Sunday, July 22, from the Watsco Center in Miami
MIAMI – JULY 22, 2018 – “Premios Juventud” (PJ 2018), Univision’s celebration of youth culture, set a record in its 15-year run as the biggest music event of the summer, with an unprecedented lineup of the most streamed Latin and international artists on today’s playlist, many performing together for the first time, and more than 25 premieres.
The four-hour multi-genre, multigenerational show combined chart-topping star power, crossover and international artists and emotional moments with a nod to the trends and causes that drive Generation Z and youth culture today.
Here are some of the world, U.S. and TV premiere moments of PJ 2018:
“Dura” rapper Daddy Yankee paused his European tour for a world TV premiere of “Zum Zum” with RKM & Ken-Y and Arcangel.
The incomparable Maluma with Wolfine, together for the first time, sang “Bella.” Maluma also shared his new single, “Marinero,” another TV first.
Reggaeton sensation J Balvin with Zion y Lennox in a world broadcast-first of “No Es Justo,” a flashback to their adolescent youth, shared the stage with child dancers. Zion y Lennox also unveiled “La Player (Bandolera)” for TV audiences.
Top-50 global artists Ozuna (“Unica” world TV premiere), Becky G (“Zooted” world premiere”) and Natti Natasha (“Sin Pijama” US TV premiere) performed.
Jason Derulo, Sofia Reyes and De la Ghetto came together for the TV debut of “1, 2, 3.”
The legendary KC and The Sunshine Band made their first Spanish-language television appearance with their disco classics “Boogie Shoes,” “Get Down Tonight,” and “That’s the Way I Like It.”
Direct from Madrid, top-five streaming trap artist Bad Bunny premiered “Estamos Bien” for TV audiences. He also made a special appearance in the megahit “Te Bote” alongside Ozuna, Casper Magico and Nio Garcia.
Italian superstars Il Volo sang for the first time with Latin urban artists Gente de Zona.
CNCO ramped up for their European and Latin American tour to unveil their new single, “Se Vuelve Loca.”
Upcoming band L.I.K.E. premiered their most recent single “Este Movimiento” on U.S. TV.
Emerging artists Johann Vera (“Astronauta” world-premiere) and Raymix (“Oye Mujer” U.S. TV premiere) kicked off the show.
PJ 2018 featured a record number of Cubaton artists, such as Lenier, Jacob Forever, Yomil y El Dany, IAMChino, and El Taiger. In a world TV premiere, Yulien Oviedo with El Micha, Chacal and Srta Dayana sang “Cuba Esta de Moda.”
Intimate performances by Carlos Rivera (“Me Muero”), Joss Favela (“Me Hubieras Dicho”) and Kany Garcia (“Soy Yo”) created emotional connections to the social causes championed by eight young Latinos: #StandingStrong (rebuilding communities), “GirlBoss (female empowerment), #NeverAgain (gun violence), #LifeIsAGift (organ donation), and #SeHablaUSA (bi-culturalism).
The dazzling concert-style telecast aired live from the Watsco Center in Miami from 7 to 11 p.m. ET on the Univision Network and was hosted by Marielena Davila and Manolo Vergara.

Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, Maluma, Ozuna, Becky G y Natti Natasha encabezaron el programa de creadores de mega-éxitos, artistas internacionales y crossover, estrellas emergentes y muchos más que se presentaron juntos por primera vez
La celebración de la cultura juvenil, que duró cuatro horas, se trasmitió en vivo por Univision el domingo, 22 de julio desde el Watsco Center en Miami
MIAMI —22 DE JULIO DE 2018— “Premios Juventud” (PJ 2018), la celebración que hace Univision a la cultura juvenil, alcanzó un récord en su trayectoria de 15 años como el mayor evento musical del verano, con un programa sin precedente con los artistas latinos e internacionales más difundidos y escuchados en la actualidad, muchos de los cuales se presentaron juntos por primera vez, además de más de 25 estrenos.
El espectáculo de cuatro horas, que ofreció diversos géneros a generaciones múltiples, combinó poder estelar, artistas internacionales y crossover, y momentos emotivos en los que se aplaudieron las tendencias y causas que motivan hoy en día a la Generación Z y la cultura juvenil.
Entre los momentos musicales de PJ 2018 que fueron estrenos mundiales, en Estados Unidos y en televisión:
Daddy Yankee, el rapero de “Dura”, hizo una pausa en su gira por Europa para el estreno mundial en televisión de “Zum Zum” junto a RKM y Ken-Y y Arcángel.
El incomparable Maluma cantó “Bella” junto a Wolfine por primera vez. Maluma también estrenó en la tele su nuevo sencillo, “Marinero”.
La sensación del reggaetón J Balvin, de lado de Zion y Lennox en el debut televisivo internacional de “No es justo”, que evoca su adolescencia, compartió el escenario con niños bailarines. Zion y Lennox también inauguraron “La player (Bandolera)” ante los televidentes.
Además, se presentaron artistas que se encuentran entre los 50 más populares del mundo: Ozuna (con el estreno mundial por televisión de “Única”), Becky G (“Zooted” en su debut mundial) quién también interpretó junto a Natti Natasha “Sin pijama” en su debut en la televisión de Estados Unidos.
