Univision Finished as the No. 1 Spanish-Language Network in Primetime for the 32nd Straight Week with Double-Digit Audience Advantages Over Telemundo Among Total Viewers 2+
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of June 11, 2018 to June 17, 2018
Last week, Univision out-delivered CBS and CW during primetime for the second consecutive week with 226,000 Adults 18-34 and finished ahead of CW with 534,000 Adults 18-49 and 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+.
Univision also ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the thirty second consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo of +13% among Total Viewers 2+.
Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.
Monday night’s two-hour finale of “Papá a Toda Madre” attracted 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+, 746,000 Adults 18-49 and 316,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision as the No. 3 broadcast network, ahead of CBS, NBC, FOX and CW for the entire night with the young 18-34 demographic. It was also the fourth most-watched program on all of broadcast television with Adult 18-34 viewers than the first-run episodes of CBS’ “Elementary,” FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance” as well as CW’s “Supergirl” and “Whose Line Is It Anyway.”
Univision’s “El Rico y Lázaro” averaged 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+ with week-to-week audience gains among Adults 18-49 (+6% to 674,000) and Adults 18-34 (+9% to 297,000). The series also made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network during the weeknight 8pm hour, surpassing Telemundo by double-digit margins among Total Viewers 2+ (+86% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+48% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+45% adv.).
In its first four airings, Univision’s new 9pm series “La Bella y Las Bestias” delivered 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 609,000 Adults 18-49 and 254,000 Adults 18-34. It drew in more 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 viewers than the original airings of such English-language dramas as ABC’s “Quantico;” CBS’ “Instinct” and “Ransom;” as well as CW’s “Life Sentence,” “Supergirl” and “The Originals.”
Univision captured the No. 3 broadcast network ranking, ahead of ABC, CBS and FOX during the weeknight 10pm hour last week among Adults 18-34 (252,000) with “Por Amar Sin Ley,” which averaged over half-a-million Adults 18-49 (628,000) and 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+.
On Sunday night, “Al Final Todo Queda En Familia” attracted 818,000 Total Viewers 2+, 326,000 Adults 18-49 and 144,000 Adults 18-34 as well as drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the entire night. Head-to-head in the 9pm hour, the family-oriented game show out-delivered Telemundo’s “Luis Miguel, La Serie” among Total Viewers 2+ (+53% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+8% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+4% adv.).
For the last four consecutive weeks, Univision’s “Crónicas” has consistently outperformed Telemundo’s “Don Francisco Te Invita” during the Sunday 10pm hour with strong audience advantages of +4% among Total Viewers 2+ (847,000), +8% among Adults 18-49 (370,000) and +9% among Adults 18-34 (160,000) this past week.
