Univision is No. 1 Spanish-Language Network in Primetime for 28th Straight Week, Out-Delivers Telemundo by Double Digits Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

Live Soccer Final Drives Univision to Victory Over CBS, FOX and Telemundo on Sunday Night Among Young Adults 18-34

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of May 14, 2018 to May 20, 2018

Last week, Univision finished as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime for the twenty-eighth consecutive week, surpassing Telemundo by double-digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+29% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+18% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+19% adv.).

Univision also ranked as the fifth most-watched broadcast network for the entire week in primetime, ahead of CW with 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 660,000 Adults 18-49 and 280,000 Adults 18-34.

For the second consecutive week, Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on four out of seven nights among Adults 18-34.

Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the twenty-eighth consecutive week during the weeknight 8pm hour and for the twenty-fifth consecutive week during the weeknight 9pm hour among Adults 18-49. In fact, averaging more than half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, Univision’s “El Rico y Lázaro” (588,000) and “Papá a Toda Madre” (626,000) delivered double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo of +40% and +33%, respectively.

  • Univision’s “Papá a Toda Madre” increased its audience week-to-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+4% to 1.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (+8% to 626,000). The novela also averaged more Adult 18-34 (259,000) viewers than the first-run episodes of ABC’s “Deception,” “Designated Survivor,” “For The People,” “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Once Upon a Time” and “The Crossing;” CBS’ “Elementary,” “Madam Secretary” and “NCIS: Los Angeles;” NBC’s “Blindspot” and CW’s “Arrow,” “Life Sentence,” “Supergirl,” “Supernatural,” “The Hundred” and “The Originals.”

With its special live coverage of the first leg of the “2018 Liga MX Clausura Final” between Toluca and Santos Laguna, Univision captured the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking on Thursday night, outperforming Telemundo by +13% among Total Viewers 2+, +16% among Adults 18-49 and +9% among Adults 18-34.

  • The soccer match delivered 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 815,000 Adults 18-49 and 333,000 Adults 18-34 while also ranked within the 10 most-watched programs on broadcast television with more 18 to 34 viewers than the entire original lineups on FOX (“Gotham” and “Showtime at the Apollo”) and CW (“Supernatural” and “Arrow”) as well as the first-run episode of CBS’ “S.W.A.T.”

Univision’s live broadcast of the second leg of the “2018 Liga MX Clausura Final,” in which Santos Laguna claimed the championship title over Toluca, drew in 2.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.1 million Adults 18-49 and 517,000 Adults 18-34 while also positioned it as the third highest-rated broadcast network for the second consecutive Sunday night among Adults 18-34, out-delivering CBS and FOX.

  • The sports event was also the third most-watched program on all of broadcast television and made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network on Sunday night with doubled the audience levels of Telemundo among both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

On Saturday night, Univision finished as the No. 2 broadcast network, out-delivering ABC, CBS and FOX for the entire night among Adults 18-34.

  • The three-hour airing of “Rosa de Guadalupe” attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+18% to 1.1 million), Adults 18-49 (+34% to 492,000) and Adults 18-34 (+70% to 230,000) compared to that of the previous Saturday while also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language TV with double-digit audience advantages of +19% over Telemundo in the key 18 to 49 demographic.
