Univision Ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-Language Network During Primetime with Double-Digit Audience Advantages over Telemundo Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

With the No. 1 Program on Broadcast Television on Saturday Night Among Adults 18-34, “Liga MX – América vs. Monterrey,” Univision also Finished as the No. 3 Broadcast Network, Ahead of ABC and CBS for the Entire Night Among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of April 9, 2018 to April 15, 2018

Last week, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime, out-delivering Telemundo by double-digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+40% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+20% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+22% adv.), marking the twenty-third consecutive week in the current 2017/2018 season that it occupied the top-ranked Spanish-language network position in the key 18 to 49 demographic.

Univision also finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network for the entire week in primetime, ahead of CW with 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 625,000 Adults 18-49 and 253,000 Adults 18-34.

Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on five out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.

Averaging over half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, Univision’s “El Rico y Lázaro” (634,000) and “Papá a Toda Madre” (683,000) positioned it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network with double-digit audience advantages of +66% and +35% over Telemundo in the respective weeknight 8pm and 9pm hours.

Univision’s “Papá a Toda Madre” delivered more Adult 18-34 (292,000) viewers than the first-run episodes of ABC’s “Designated Survivor,” “For The People,” “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “Once Upon a Time;” CBS’ “Hawaii Five-0,” “Living Biblically,” “MacGyver,” “Man with a Plan,” “Ransom,” “Scorpion” and “Superior Donuts;” NBC’s “A.P. Bio,” “Blacklist,” “Champions,” “Rise,” “Taken” and “Timeless;” FOX’s “LA to Vegas” and “Last Man on Earth;” as well as CW’s “Arrow,” “Black Lightning,” “DC Legends of Tomorrow,” “iZombie,” “Jane The Virgin” and “Supernatural.”

Airing weeknights at 10pm, Univision’s “Por Amar Sin Ley” attracted 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+ and outperformed the first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as ABC’s “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “Once Upon a Time;” CBS’ “Ransom;” NBC’s “Taken” and CW’s “Arrow,” “DC Legends of Tomorrow,” “iZombie,” “Jane the Virgin” and “Supernatural” among both Adults 18-49 (618,000) and Adults 18-34 (240,000).

With its live coverage of “Liga MX” featuring the two soccer matches of Tigres UANL versus Cruz Azul and América versus Monterrey, Univision finished as the No. 3 broadcast network, ahead of ABC and CBS on Saturday night among Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49. Preceded by Tigres UANL versus Cruz Azul, which drew in 870,000 Total Viewers 2+, 468,000 Adults 18-49 and 180,000 Adults 18-34, the soccer match between América and Monterrey retained and increased its overall lead-in audience by +32% with 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, while it ranked as the No. 1 and No. 3 program on all of broadcast television on Saturday night among Adults 18-34 (281,000) and Adults 18-49 (679,000), respectively.

On Sunday night, “Pequeños Gigantes” averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+39% to 2.0 million), Adults 18-49 (+18% to 777,000) and Adults 18-34 (+47% to 342,000) to the Univision Network’s 8pm to 10pm time slot from the comparable Sunday last year. The children talent competition series also finished within the top 10 most-watched programs on broadcast television with more Adult 18-34 viewers than the entire original lineup on NBC (“Dateline,” “Little Big Shots,” “Genius Jr.” and “Timeless”), in addition to making Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network on Sunday night, surpassing Telemundo by +13% in the key 18 to 49 demographic.
