UniMás Delivers Double-Digit Year-Over-Year Primetime Audience Growth During November 2017 Sweeps
NEW YORK – NOVEMBER 27, 2017 – Committed to delivering quality programming that audiences demand, the Univision Network wrapped up the 2017 November Sweeps as the undisputed leader of Spanish-language entertainment. Univision Network finished the November 2017 Sweep as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime among Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49. Additionally, UniMás delivered double-digit year-over-year audience growth in primetime among Total Viewers 2+ (+47%), Adults 18-49 (+28%) and Adults 18-34 (+15%) during the November 2017 Sweeps.

The success is partly driven by Univision’s new programming consisting of the romantic comedy that pokes fun at traditional attitudes toward the extended family “Mi Marido Tiene Familia” and the contemporary thriller about forbidden love “Caer En Tentación.” Adding to the wins is Univision’s hit dance competition series “Mira Quién Baila,” which in its fifth season, ranked as the No. 1 reality program in primetime among Hispanic Adults 18-49.
Additionally, Univision’s networks delivered a 58% share of all primetime Spanish-language viewing among Adults 18-49, up from 53% compared to the November 2016 sweep.
Univision Network – Broadcast Highlights:
- In the November 2017 Sweep, Univision Network ranked as the fifth largest broadcast network in the country, out-delivering CW during primetime among Total Viewers 2+ (+17% adv.) and Adults 18-49 (+19% adv.).
- Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on one out of every two nights among Adults 18-34 (14 out of 28 nights or 50% of the time).
- Its weeknight drama series, “Rosa De Guadalupe” positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during the Monday through Friday 8 p.m. hour, outperforming its closest competitor by double-digit margins among Total Viewers 2+ (+44% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+37% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+58% adv.).
- Airing Monday through Friday at 9 p.m., “Mi Marido Tiene Familia” averaged more Adult 18-34 viewers than the first-run episodes of ABC’s “Designated Survivor,” CBS’ “Madam Secretary,” NBC’s “Blacklist,” FOX’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” and CW’s “Arrow.”
- The dance competition “Mira Quién Baila” reached 17.5 million Total Viewers 2+ during its fifth season run and ranked as the No. 1 program on Spanish-language TV on Sunday nights among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- Currently in its second season, “El Chapo” made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network during the Sunday 10 p.m. hour, outperforming its closest competitor by +9% among Total Viewers 2+, +37% among Adults 18-49 and +32% among Adults 18-34.
- The 18th Annual Latin GRAMMYs reached 8.0 million Total Viewers 2+, who tuned-in to all or part of the three-hour live broadcast while also positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night with doubled the audience levels of its closest competitor among Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49.
UniMás Network – Broadcast Highlights:
- In the November 2017 Sweep, UniMás delivered double-digit year-over-year audience growth in primetime among Total Viewers 2+ (+47%), Adults 18-49 (+28%) and Adults 18-34 (+15%).
- “La Tierra Prometida” averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+27%) and Adults 18-49 (+5%) during the weeknight 8 p.m. hour compared to Telemundo’s “El Cesar.”
- UniMás’ series attracted significantly more viewers to their respective weeknight hours in the November 2017 sweep versus November 2016 sweep:
- “La Tierra Prometida” (M-F 8pm-9pm): Total Viewers 2+ (+67% to 1.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+38% to 465,000) and Adults 18-34 (+21% to 162,000)
- “Totalmente Diva” (M-F 9pm-10pm): Total Viewers 2+ (+77% to 661,000), Adults 18-49 (+41% to 280,000) and Adults 18-34 (+11% to 97,000)
- “Lady, La Vendedora de Rosas” (M-F 10pm-11pm): Total Viewers 2+ (+65% to 365,000), Adults 18-49 (+45% to 167,000) and Adults 18-34 (+63% to 78,000)
- UniMás’ averaged two times more Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 than the combined audience of Azteca and Estrella TV in primetime.
