Friday Night’s World Cup Qualifying Matches Make Univision the No. 1 Broadcast Network for the Night Among Adults 18-34 and 18-49; Beats Closest Spanish-Language Competitor as well as FOX and ABC by Double-Digit Margins in both Demos

Univision was the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the week among Total Viewers 2+, beating its competitor by +4%.

Univision was the No.1 broadcast network with Adults 18-34 on Friday night, beating its closest competitor by double-digit margins (+18%). Univision also outperformed ABC (+10%) and FOX (+27%) as the No. 3 network with Adults 18-49 and finished the night as the No. 1 Spanish-language network with both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

  • With Adults 18-34 Univision attracted more than half the viewers of NBC (+56%) and held a significant advantage over FOX (+46%), ABC (+37%), and CBS (+20%).
  • Univision kicked off the night with a USMNT vs. Panama qualifier match. The live soccer match averaged 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 841,000 Adults 18-49, and 324,000 Adults 18-34.  In fact, the 7:30pm soccer match was the most-viewed USMNT World Cup qualifier on UCI since 10/11/11, excluding matches vs Mexico.
  • Following at 9:30pm the Mexico National Team vs. Trinidad y Tobago qualifier delivered 2.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.3 million Adults 18-49, and 538,000 Adults 18-34. The Mexico National Team match bested all sports programming for the night with Adults 18-49 and was up +6% with Adults 18-49 from all Mexico National Team matches year to-date.

“Mira Quién Baila” (Look Who’s Dancing) was No. 1 Spanish language reality program, and secured Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network on Sunday night.

  • “Mira Quién Baila” grew its week-to-week audience, averaging 1.9 million Total Viewers 2+ (+14%), 791,000 Adults 18-49 (+9%), and 306,000 Adults 18-34 (+2%).
  • Following at 10pm, season 2 of “El Chapo” attracted more Adults 18-49 (+11% to 629,000) and Adults 18-34 (+7% to 249,000) than the previous week.

Univision’s entire weekday series lineup grew its audience in every hour with Total Viewers 2+. Airing Monday- Thursday this past week…

  • Univision’s 8pm series, “Enamorándome de Ramón,” attracted 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 624,000 Adults 18-49, and 296,000 Adults 18-34, up +4% from the previous week with those demographics.
  • Univision’s 9pm series “Mi Marido Tiene Familia” (My Husband Has Family) grew its audience to 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+ (+2%), 734,000 Adults 18-49 (+3%), and 334,000 Adults 18-34 (+5%) compared to the prior week.
  • Univision’s 10pm series, “Hoy Voy a Cambiar” (Today I will Change) grew its audience week-to-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+2% to 1.2 million) as well as averaged 456,000 Adults 18-49 and 185,000 Adults 18-34.
