Boca Juniors, Borussia Dortmund, Fluminense FC and Real Madrid C.F. Amateur Youth Teams Accept Invites to Compete in Kissimmee, FL
NEW YORK, NY – OCTOBER 3, 2017 – UCI Live, Univision Communications Inc.’s (UCI) in-house experiential marketing unit, today announced the remaining four international amateur youth soccer teams to join the confirmed eight domestic and four other international teams to compete in the inaugural Prospects CupSM that will be held in Kissimmee, Florida from December 18-22, 2017. The four international clubs who accepted their invitation to compete are Argentina’s Boca Juniors, Brazil’s Fluminense FC, Germany’s Borussia Dortmund and Spain’s Real Madrid U12 boys’ teams.

“We are thrilled that the inaugural Prospects Cup will feature such a diverse, talented roster of teams representing 8 different countries,” said Rick Alessandri, executive vice president of Enterprise Development and head of UCI Live. “These young athletes will come together in Kissimmee, Florida to not only share their love for soccer but to share their inspiring personal stories, cultures and heritage with one another.”
Prospects Cup is a global event that will bring 16 amateur youth soccer teams from around the world competing for the sport’s first youth soccer world championship. Using the Little League World Series as a model, the tournament looks to crown the world’s best under-12 boys team.
The round-robin tournament will include eight U12 youth boys’ teams based in the U.S. and eight teams from clubs around the world and will be spilt into two divisions. The group winners (based upon cumulative points) of each division will compete on Thursday, December 21, 2017. The division champions (from the U.S. and international divisions) will face off in the championship match on December 22, 2017. Christian Pulisic, 19-year-old soccer phenom, will serve as an athlete ambassador for the inaugural Prospects Cup. The event will be broadcast live on Univision Deportes and its multiple platforms in both English and Spanish.

NUEVA YORK, NY –3 DE OCTUBRE DE 2017 – UCI Live, la división interna de mercadeo de experiencias de Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), anunció hoy los cuatro equipos internacionales restantes de fútbol juvenil y amateur que se sumarán a los ocho equipos estadounidenses y cuatro otros equipos extranjeros que competirán en la primera Prospects CupSM, que se realizará del 18 al 22 de diciembre de 2017 en Kissimmee, Florida. Los cuatro últimos equipos extranjeros de muchachos Sub-12 que han aceptado su invitación a competir son Boca Juniors de Argentina, Fluminense FC de Brasil, Borussia Dortmund de Alemania y Real Madrid de España.

Prospects Cup es un evento mundial que congregará a 16 equipos juveniles de fútbol amateur de todo el mundo, que competirán en el primer campeonato de su tipo. El torneo, que usará como modelo la Little League World Series, se propone declarar campeón al mejor equipo de muchachos Sub-12 del mundo.
Participarán en el torneo tipo round-robin ocho equipos de muchachos Sub-12 de Estados Unidos y ocho equipos de clubes del resto del mundo, en dos divisiones. Los ganadores de grupo (según puntos acumulados) de cada división competirán el jueves, 21 de diciembre de 2017. Los campeones de la división estadounidense y la internacional se enfrentarán en el partido decisivo del campeonato el 22 de diciembre de 2017. Christian Pulisic, el fenomenal futbolista de 19 años, será el embajador deportivo de la primera Prospects Cup. El evento se trasmitirá en vivo por Univision Deportes y sus múltiples plataformas en inglés y español.
