The 14th edition of Premios Juventud (Youth Awards) has driven Univision to out-perform its closest Spanish-language competitor by double-digit margins.
The awards’ multi-screen coverage on Univision and Univision reached 7.9 million total viewers 2+ who tuned in to all or part of the three-hour live broadcast. Such digits positioned Univision as the No 1 broadcast network for the tenth consecutive year on this night among both adults 18-34 and persons 12-34, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and CW.
Regarding Univision’s Hispanic competitors, the network outperformed the closest by 96% among total viewers 2+, by 95% among adults 18-49, and by 90% among adults 18-34.
According to Nielsen data delivered by the network, Premios Juventud attracted more Hispanic viewers than the latest editions of the major English-language music award shows such as American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Country Music Awards and Video Music Awards.
On a local level, Premios Juventud was the most-watched broadcast of the day in Miami (among total viewers 2+), and in Los Angeles, Dallas and San Francisco (Adults 18-49).
