Set to premiere on October 17th, the production stars Rafael Novoa as the leader of the elite unit that tracked down the notorious drug kingpin
WHAT: Colombia. Late 1980s. Pablo Escobar is at the height of his reign. His Medellín cartel dominates the worldwide cocaine trade. Its tentacles reach deep into every corner of Colombian society, from politics to soccer to religion. With ordinary police and military unable to touch him, the country’s leaders set up an elite force of fearless and incorruptible commandos and give them one task: capture or kill Escobar. “Bloque de Búsqueda” (Search Squad) is their story.
The challenges faced by friends and family of the “Bloque de Búsqueda” team form an integral part of the storyline. On top of the issues faced by any family and worrying about the safety of their loved ones, they are under constant threat from the cartels. They are forced to hide, change identities, abandon relationships, and even confront violence and death.
As the series opens, Colonel Hernán Martín (Rafael Novoa) is named to lead the unit. Brilliant, fearless and analytical, Martín knows the importance of intelligence and technology. He adores his wife Milena (Carolina Gómez) and their three children. The fact that his work places them in danger weighs on him: his eldest son and namesake (Brian Moreno) is threatened at the university where, at the behest of his father, he is studying medicine. But the younger Hernán has law enforcement in his DNA. Risking the wrath of his father, he enrolls in the police academy, eventually becoming a valued member of the Bloque.
Colonel Martín’s right-hand man is Captain Antonio Gavilán (Sebastián Martínez). A hard-drinking, hard-living old-school cop, Gavilán is an expert marksman with nerves of steel, an idiosyncratic moral code, a propensity for meting out street justice, and a colorful personal life that includes not just a beautiful wife (Verónica Orozco) and a 2-year-old son, but a much-younger girlfriend, as well.
Sergeant Olga Díez (Laura Londoño) stands out among team members both for her logistical expertise and her role in the male-dominated world of law enforcement, where she has often found her career stymied because of her unwillingness to trade sexual favors for advancement. Much of her personal life involves trying to keep her ne’er-do-well brother Julio (Juan Felipe Muñoz) out of trouble.

El estreno será el 17 de octubre con el gran actor Rafael Novoa como el líder de la unidad élite que le sigue el rastro al conocido barón de la droga
QUÉ: Colombia a fines de la década de los ochenta. Pablo Escobar está en la cúspide de su poder. Su cartel de Medellín domina el tráfico mundial de la cocaína. Su influencia llega a todos los rincones de la sociedad colombiana, desde la política a la religión. Como la policía y los militares no logran capturarlo, se forma una fuerza élite de comandos valientes e incorruptibles con una sola misión: capturar a Escobar vivo o muerto. “Bloque de Búsqueda” cuenta su historia.
Los desafíos que enfrentan los amigos y familiares del equipo del “Bloque de Búsqueda” son una parte importante del guion. Además de los usuales problemas familiares están constantemente preocupados por la seguridad de sus seres queridos, porque el cartel los tiene amenazados. Se ven forzados a esconderse, cambiar de identidad, abandonar a su pareja e incluso confrontar la violencia y la muerte.
La serie comienza cuando nombran al Coronel Hernán Martín (Rafael Novoa) como líder del equipo. Martín es brillante, valiente, analítico y sabe la importancia de la tecnología y el espionaje. Adora a su esposa Milena (Carolina Gómez) y a sus tres hijos. El hecho de que su trabajo los pone en peligro le preocupa mucho: su hijo mayor lleva su nombre (Brian Moreno) y lo amenazan en la universidad donde estudia medicina a pedido de su padre. Pero el joven Hernán tiene ADN de policía y en franca oposición a su padre ingresa a la academia policial y llega a ser un miembro valioso del “Bloque”.
La mano derecha del Coronel Martín es el Capitán Antonio Gavilán (Sebastián Martínez), un rudo policía de la vieja escuela, bebedor y vividor, pero con excelente puntería y nervios de acero. Su moralidad idiosincrática lo hace propenso a dictar justicia callejera y su colorida vida incluye no solo a su bella esposa (Verónica Orozco) y su hijo de 2 años, sino también a una novia mucho menor que él.
La Sargento Olga Díez (Laura Londoño) sobresale en el equipo por su experiencia logística y por estar en un campo dominado por hombres. A menudo su carrera se vio frustrada porque no aceptó cambiar favores sexuales por ascensos. Pasa la mayor parte de su vida tratando de sacar de problemas a su hermano Julio (Juan Felipe Muñoz) que es un “bueno para nada”.
