Univision Stations Close the July Sweep as the No. 1 or No. 2 Most-Watched Early and Late Local Newscasts in Top Markets Among Adults 18-49, Regardless of Language: Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, Phoenix and Sacramento

NEW YORK – JULY 29, 2016 – Univision Local Media today announced that Univision stations in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, Phoenix and Sacramento closed the July Sweep as the No. 1 or No. 2 most-watched early and late local newscasts among Adults 18-49, regardless of language. KMEX Univision 34 in Los Angeles had the most-watched early and late local newscast in the country among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, regardless of language. Additionally, Univision late local newscasts held the top 4 spots in the country among Adults 18-34, during the July 2016 sweep: KMEX Univision Los Angeles at No. 1, KUVN Univision Dallas at No. 2, KXLN Univision Houston at No. 3 and WXTV Univision New York at No. 4.

In Total Day and Primetime viewing, Univision stations in Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix and Sacramento ranked No. 1 or No. 2 among Adults 18-49, regardless of language, during the July 2016 sweep.

During the July 2016 sweep, Univision was the No. 1 broadcast station in total day viewing (Monday-Sunday 6 a.m.-2 a.m.) among:

  • Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, Houston and Phoenix
  • Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas and Phoenix

Univision was the No. 2 broadcast station in total day viewing among:

  • Total Viewers 2+ in Los Angeles and Miami
  • Adults 18-49 in Miami, Dallas and Sacramento
  • Adults 18-34 in New York and Miami

Primetime

During the July 2016 sweep, Univision was the No. 1 broadcast station in primetime viewing among:

  • Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles
  • Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, Dallas, San Francisco and Phoenix

Univision was the No. 2 broadcast station in primetime viewing among:

  • Total Viewers 2+ in Los Angeles and Miami
  • Adults 18-49 in Miami, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix and Sacramento
  • Adults 18-34 in New York, Miami and Houston

Early Local News

During the July 2016 sweep, Univision stations delivered the No. 1 early local news among:

  • Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, Houston and San Francisco
  • Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco and Phoenix

Univision stations delivered the No. 2 early local news among:

  • Total Viewers 2+ in Los Angeles and Miami
  • Adults 18-49 in New York, Miami, Dallas, Chicago, Phoenix and Sacramento
  • Adults 18-34 in Miami

Late Local News

During the July 2016 sweep, Univision stations delivered the No. 1 late local news among:

  • Total Viewers 2+ in Los Angeles
  • Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix and Sacramento
  • Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Dallas and San Francisco

Univision stations delivered the No. 2 late local news among:

  • Total Viewers 2+ in Miami and Houston
  • Adults 18-49 in New York, Miami and San Francisco
  • Adults 18-34 in Miami, Chicago, Phoenix and Sacramento

No. 1 in the Country:

Early News:

  • Among Adults 18-49, KMEX UNI (LA) was the No. 1 in the country during the July 2016 sweep.
  • Among Adults 18-34, KMEX UNI (LA) and WXTV UNI (NY) are No. 1 and No. 2 in the country respectively during the July 2016 sweep.

Late News:

  • Among Adults 18-49, KMEX UNI (LA) is No. 1 in the country during the July 2016 sweep.
  • Among Adults 18-34, Univision held the top 4 spots in late local news in the country during the July 2016 sweep: KMEX UNI (LA) at No. 1, KUVN UNI (DL) at No. 2, KXLN UNI (HN) at No. 3 and WXTV UNI (NY) at No. 4.
