Tournament Reaches 43 million Total Viewers 2+ Through End of Quarterfinals
NEW YORK – JUNE 20, 2016 – Univision Deportes, the multimedia sports division of Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) that includes UDN, the No. 1 Spanish-language sports cable network, today announced ratings for its broadcast of the Copa America Centenario quarterfinal stage. The quarterfinals, which included four matches, averaged 3.9 million Total Viewers 2+ and 2.2 million Adults 18-49 per match, making it the most-viewed Copa América quarterfinal round in history, on any network regardless of language. Through 28 matches, Copa América Centenario tournament is averaging 2.9 million Total Viewers 2+ and 1.6 million Adults 18-49 per match.
- The México versus Chile quarterfinal match that aired on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. EST averaged 5.6 million Total Viewers 2+ and 3.2 million Adults 18-49.
- The Argentina versus Venezuela quarterfinal match that aired on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. EST averaged 3.3 million Total Viewers 2+ and 1.7 million Adults 18-49.
- The Colombia versus Peru quarterfinal match that aired on Friday at 8:00 p.m. EST averaged 3.5 million Total Viewers 2+ and 1.8 million Adults 128-49.
- The USA versus Ecuador quarterfinal match that aired on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. EST averaged 3.5 million Total Viewers 2+ and 2.0 million Adults 18-49.
The Copa America Centenario tournament advances to the semifinals beginning Tuesday, June 20, 2016 with USA versus Argentina at 9:00pm EST on the Univision Network with a simulcast on UDN.
