NEW YORK – JANUARY 11, 2016 – Univision Deportes, the multimedia sports division of Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) that also includes UDN, the No. 1 Spanish-language sports network, today announced that it has acquired from UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) the exclusive U.S. Spanish-language broadcast rights to all UEFA national team competitions from 2018 to 2022. This first-of-its-kind centralized deal will make Univision Deportes the Spanish-language home of European national team soccer in the U.S.
The rights include the UEFA EURO 2020™, UEFA Nations League, UEFA Nations League Final Four and the European Qualifiers to the UEFA EURO 2020™ as well as the European Qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup™. Univision Deportes will be airing the matches across the portfolio of networks including UDN, Univision Network, UniMás, Galavision and will be streaming the properties via the Univision Deportes app.

Under the new rights deal, Univision Deportes will air multiple live matches on every match-day, daily match highlights on existing Univision Deportes programming and at least one match per kick-off slot for the UEFA Nations League, UEFA Nations League Final Four, the European Qualifiers to UEFA EURO 2020™ and the European Qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup™. For the UEFA EURO 2020™, the rights deal includes airing of all matches live and daily match highlights on existing Univision Deportes programming. Univision Deportes will also have exclusive rights to live streaming and digital content.
This deal is a landmark for both UEFA and Univision Deportes marking the most extensive access to UEFA competitions on broadcast television in Spanish in the United States.

UNIVISION DEPORTES ANUNCIA ACUERDO HISTÓRICO CON UEFA PARA PROPIEDADES DE SELECCIONES NACIONALES, INCLUYENDO CAMPEONATOS EUROPEOS
NUEVA YORK – 11 DE ENERO DE 2016 – Univision Deportes, la división deportiva multimedia de Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) que también incluye a UDN, la cadena No. 1 de deportes en español, anunció hoy que ha adquirido de la Unión de Federaciones de Fútbol Europeas (UEFA) los derechos exclusivos de trasmisión en español en los Estados Unidos de todos los campeonatos de las selecciones nacionales de UEFA de 2018 a 2022. Este acuerdo global, el primero de su tipo, hará de Univision Deportes la sede en español en los Estados Unidos de las selecciones nacionales de fútbol de Europa.
Los derechos incluyen aquellos para UEFA EURO 2020™, Liga de las Naciones de la UEFA, los cuatro partidos finales de la Liga de las Naciones de la UEFA y los clasificatorios europeos a UEFA EURO 2020™, como también los clasificatorios europeos a la Copa Mundial de 2022 de la FIFA™. Univision Deportes trasmitirá los partidos en su cartera de cadenas, entre ellas UDN, Cadena Univision, UniMás y Galavisión, y por Internet o streaming de las propiedades vía la aplicación de Univision Deportes.

Bajo el acuerdo sobre derechos, Univision Deportes trasmitirá múltiples partidos en vivo todos los días en que haya partidos, momentos culminantes de partidos a diario en la programación existente de Univision Deportes y por lo menos un partido por periodo inicial de la Liga de las Naciones de la UEFA, los cuatro partidos finales de la Liga de las Naciones de la UEFA, los clasificatorios europeos a UEFA EURO 2020™ y los clasificatorios europeos a la Copa Mundial de 2022 de la FIFA™. Para UEFA EURO 2020™, el acuerdo sobre derechos incluye la trasmisión de todos los partidos en vivo y momentos culminantes de partidos a diario en los programas existentes de Univision Deportes. Univision Deportes también tendrá los derechos exclusivos a streaming en vivo y contenido digital.
Este acuerdo es histórico para tanto UEFA como Univision Deportes, pues otorga el más extenso acceso a los campeonatos de UEFA en la televisión de señal abierta en español en los Estados Unidos.
