UniMás Ranks as the Number One Network Regardless of Language with Adults 18-49 and 18-34 with 2015 Gold Cup Semifinals Coverage, Outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and Telemundo

Mexico vs. Panama Match Posts Best Semifinal Ratings Since 2011, 29.2 Million Viewers via TV and Digital for Tournament To-Date


NEW YORK – JULY 23, 2015 – UniMás, the leading provider of alternative, non-traditional content for today’s younger Hispanic viewers, ranked as the No. 1 network regardless of language among Adults 18-49 and young Adults 18-34, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and Telemundo on Wednesday in primetime with impressive ratings for Gold Cup Semifinal matches.

On UniMás, simulcast on UDN, the Mexico vs. Panama match aired Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. ET, averaging 4.4 million Total Viewers 2+ and 2.6 million Adults 18-49.

  • This was the 2nd largest audience for a 2015 Gold Cup match on any network regardless of language. Only the Quarterfinal match between Costa Rica and Mexico on July 19th on Univision drew more viewers (4.7 Total Viewers 2+ and 2.7 million Adults 18-49).
  • Viewership increased +20% among Total Viewers 2+ and +12% among Adults 18-49 compared with the 2013 Semifinal match between Mexico and Panama on UniMás.

On UniMás, simulcast on UDN, the USA vs. Jamaica match aired Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. ET, averaging 1.9 million Total Viewers 2+ and 928,000 Adults 18-49.

  • This was the 2nd largest audience for a USA match in the 2015 Gold Cup to-date on any network regardless of language, behind only the opening day match against Honduras on UniMás on July 7th.
  • Audience increased +46% among Total Viewers 2+ and +50% among Adults 18-49 compared with the Quarterfinal match between USA and Cuba on July 18th on Univision.

Univision Deportes has reached 29.2 million Total Viewers 2+ with 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup coverage via television and digital. Univision Deportes live streaming has provided a 6% lift to TV viewership.

Through 24 matches of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament, Univision Deportes is averaging 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+ and 1.1 million Adults 18-49 per match, out-delivering its coverage of the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup by +35% among Total Viewers 2+ and by +37% among Adults 18-49.

LOCAL HIGHLIGHTS

Regardless of language, coverage of the Mexico vs. Panama Gold Cup match was the highest rated program of the entire day in Los Angeles among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and young Adults 18-34 and in Houston among Adults 18-49 and young Adults 18-34.

  • Among Total Viewers 2+ in Los Angeles and Houston

  • Among young Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix and Sacramento

During the Mexico vs. Panama Gold Cup match (9:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. ET), UniMás stations had higher viewership than the Telemundo, Azteca, MundoFox and Estrella stations combined:

  • Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and young Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Phoenix and Sacramento
