Liga MX on Univision Deportes Outperforms NHL Playoffs on NBC Networks with Clausura 2015 Quarterfinals

NEW YORK – MAY 20, 2015 – Univision Deportes, the sports division of Univision Communications Inc., the leading media company serving Hispanic America, delivered strong results with its sports content in the Liga Mexicana Fútbol Clausura 2015 quarterfinals.

On UniMás, Atlas vs. Chivas del Guadalajara aired on UniMás on Sunday at 7 p.m., averaging 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+ and 960,000 Adults 18-49.

  • This not only ranks as the most-viewed quarterfinal match of the playoffs but also ranks as the most-viewed quarterfinal match on UniMás since the 2009 Apertura season (America-Monterrey, 11/28/09).
  • The match out-delivered last season’s quarterfinal match on UniMás by +161% among Total Viewers 2+ and +174% among Adults 18-49 (Toluca-Chiapas, 11/30/14).
  • The match out-delivered the NHL Western Conference Finals game between Chicago and Anaheim on NBC by +3% among Adults 18-49, all 16 Major League Baseball games on ESPN, FS1, MLB Network, Fox Deportes and ESPN Deportes, and an NHL semifinal game on NBCSN among Adults 18-49.On Univision, América vs. Pachuca aired on Saturday at 6 p.m., averaging 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+ and 716,000 Adults 18-49.

On UDN, the top match, Chivas del Guadalajara vs. Atlas averaged 868,000 Total Viewers 2+ and 551,000 Adults 18-49.

  • The three quarterfinals on UDN averaged 799,000 Total Viewers 2+ and 485,000 Adults 18-49, ranking as the most-viewed quarterfinal round on UDN ever, out-delivering last season’s quarterfinal average by +18% among Total Viewers 2+ and +15% among Adults 18-49.
