Liga MX on UDN Registers More Viewers than NBA on NBA TV and NHL on NBC Sports Network

Univision Deportes Delivers Most-Viewed Soccer Match on Television Regardless Of Language for 4th Straight Week


Univision Deportes aired 5 Liga MX matches last week, including the Guadalajara vs. Monterrey match which was the most-viewed soccer match of the week across all networks regardless of language.

The UniMás broadcast of Guadalajara vs. Monterrey on Sunday, March 1 at 6:00 p.m. ET delivered 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+ and 761,000 Adults 18-49, besting the top English Premier League matches last week on NBCSN, as well as NHL on NBC and UFC Fight Night on FS1, among others.

  • In addition, the Guadalajara vs. Monterrey match out-delivered all four live NHL games on NBCSN last week, along with the eight NBA games on ESPN and NBA TV.

Last week, in Total Day and primetime among Adults 18-49, UDN out-delivered Fox Sports 2, Golf Channel, MLB Network and NBA TV, among others.

Liga MX is averaging 303,000 Total Viewers 2+ and 179,000 Adults 18-49 per game on UDN this season, increases of +18% and +14% among Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49 vs. same time period during Apertura ’14 season. Liga MX delivers +31% more Adults 18-49 than NBA games on NBA TV, and +7% more than NHL games on NBC Sports Network.

CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal matchup between Deportivo Saprissa vs. America aired on UDN and FS2 on Wednesday, February 25, at 9:00 p.m., averaging 303,000 Adults 18-49 on UDN and 16,000 Adults 18-49 on FS2. Among Total Viewers, game averaged 454,000 on UDN and 27,000 on FS2.

  • This is the most-viewed CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal match on any UCI network since March 7, 2012 match on UniMás featuring Seattle Sounders vs. Santos.
