NEW YORK – NOVEMBER 4, 2014– WXTVUnivision 41, the New York area’s leading Hispanic television station, announced today that Katiria Soto will join Noticias Univision 41 (Univision 41 News) as a morning anchor/reporter beginning Monday, November 17, 2014. Soto will co-anchor “Noticias Univision 41 Al Despertar” (Univision 41 News at Dawn) alongside veteran news anchor Merijoel Durán. “Al Despertar” airs weekdays, 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on WXTV Univision 41, and from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on WFUT/WFTY UniMás 67/68.

Soto, a native of Puerto Rico, began her career in television in 2001. Prior to joining WXTV Univision 41, Soto was a co-host for WAPA TV/WAPA América’s program “Wapa a las Cuatro” (Wapa at Four) in Puerto Rico. At WAPA TV, she also served as host for “De Película” (Movie Show) and “Transformación Total” (Total Transformation) programs. In addition, Soto worked as a freelance news reporter for Telemundo’s “Telenoticias.”
Soto obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations and Advertising from the University of Puerto Rico. She also graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico’s School of Law.

KATIRIA SOTO SE INCORPORA AL EQUIPO DE NOTICIAS DE WXTV UNIVISION 41 COMO PRESENTADORA/REPORTERA
NUEVA YORK – 4 DE NOVIEMBRE DE 2014 – WXTVUnivision 41, la estación de televisión líder para los hispanos en el área de Nueva York, anunció hoy que Katiria Soto se incorporará a Noticias Univision 41 como presentadora/reportera del noticiero matutino a partir del lunes, 17 de noviembre de 2014. Soto será copresentadora de “Noticias Univision 41 Al Despertar” junto a la veterana presentadora Merijoel Durán. “Al Despertar” se trasmite de lunes a viernes, de 5:00 a.m. a 7:00 a.m. en WXTV Univision 41, y de 7:00 a.m. a 8:00 a.m. en WFUT/WFTY UniMás 67/68.

Soto, nacida en Puerto Rico, inició su carrera de televisión en el año 2001. Antes de unirse a WXTV Univision 41, Soto fue copresentadora del programa “Wapa a las Cuatro” de WAPA TV/WAPA América en Puerto Rico. En WAPA TV, también presentó los programas “De Película” y “Transformación Total”. Además, Soto trabajó por su cuenta como reportera de noticias para “Telenoticias de Telemundo”.
Soto obtuvo una licenciatura en relaciones públicas y publicidad de la Universidad de Puerto Rico. También se graduó cum laude de su doctorado en leyes de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico.
