Our Diversity Behind the Camera Panel at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival

For the second year in a row, Univision Communications (UCI) and Fusion Media Group (FMG) hosted a discussion at the Sundance Film Festival. This year, the topic was “Behind the Camera: Where Diversity Begins.” UCI’s Chief Revenue Officer Tonia O’Connor kicked it off with this:

It’s incredibly important that we as storytellers and content creators are accurately representing the make-up of our country and our culture. When you introduce diversity into content, it opens up people to new worlds and new cultures, and makes them feel represented and respected.

Moderated by Fusion TV Host Kimberly Brooks, participants included CEO of FMG Studios Camila Jimenez Villa,  Actress, Activist and Author Ashley Judd, President of Gamechanger Films Mynette Louie, “Coco” Co-Director Adrian Molina and CAA Agent Darnell Strom. The event was part of UCI’s Project Unbound initiative, which aims to close the representation gap in front of and behind the camera.
