In more ways than one, Univision Deportes Network (UDN) has plenty to shout about.
Approaching its fourth anniversary, UDN continues to dominate the Spanish-language Sports cable space and compete with the biggest brands in English-language Sports cable. As part of UDN’s development, its roster of domestically produced live studio shows continues to expand.
On January 11, UDN launched its newest show, “Linea de 4” (or “Line of 4”) at 11pm ET, Monday through Friday. While the name refers to a soccer team’s defensive back line, the number four plays a key role: A quartet of soccer experts debate Mexican and international soccer news in a fast-paced, opinionated, and often loud analysis show.
Taking place on a specially designed set – in which the desk is shaped like a “4” and the talent faces each other – the experts verbally battle it out, defending their viewpoints with spirited debate, and the viewers are the winners.
Alejandro Berry serves as the host, along with a rotating cast of experts. The show helps meet the increasing demand for soccer news and analysis among U.S. Hispanics.
Multiple sponsorship opportunities are available, including the presenting sponsor position and product placement throughout the program.
“Linea de 4” joins other Univision Deportes studio shows such as “Locura Deportiva,” “Futbol Club,” “Republica Deportiva” and “Contacto Deportivo,” which beat ESPN’s venerable “SportsCenter” in the ratings multiple times in 2015. Univision Deportes continues to establish itself as the preeminent Spanish-language sports network in the U.S., and that is a position worth defending.
