Copa America Centenario Outperforming the 2014 World Cup Group Stage During Tournament To-Date

Univision’s Telecasts Pacing +7% among Total Viewers 2+ and +11% among Adults 18-49 ahead of the 2014 World Cup Group Stage


NEW YORK – JUNE 9, 2016 – Univision Deportes, the multimedia sports division of Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) that includes UDN, the No. 1 Spanish-language sports cable network, today announced that its telecast of the Copa America Centenario tournament is pacing +7% among Total Viewers 2+ and +11% among Adults 18-49 ahead of the 2014 World Cup Group Stage. Through 10 matches, Copa America Centenario is averaging 2.7 million Total Viewers 2+ and 1.5 million Adults 18-49 per match. The tournament to-date has reached 26.9 million Total Viewers 2+.

The USA versus Costa Rica match that aired June 7th at 7:30pm ET on UniMás averaged 2.5 million Total Viewers 2+ and 1.3 million Adults 18-49.

The Colombia versus Paraguay match that aired June 7th at 10:00pm ET on Univision Network averaged 2.8 million Total Viewers 2+ and 1.6 million Adults 18-49.

LOCAL HIGHLIGHTS

The USA versus Costa Rica match made UniMás the No. 1 broadcast station during the time period (8:00pm – 10:00pm ET, live across time zones) among Adults 18-49 and young Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Phoenix.

The USA versus Costa Rica match had higher viewership than the ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX stations combined in the 8:00pm – 10:00pm ET time period (live across time zones) among young Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles.

  • Adults 18-49 in New York, Miami, Houston and Dallas
  • Young Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Chicago and Phoenix

In fact, the Colombia versus Paraguay match was the No. 1 program of the day among:

  • Adults 18-49 in Houston
  • Young Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas and Phoenix

The Colombia vs. Paraguay match on Univision had higher viewership than the ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX stations combined in the 10:30 pm-12:30 am ET, time period (live across time zones) among:
