The sixth edition of the TeletonUSA, that Univision will broadcast from March 22 to 23, and whose slogan is Estamos Unidos Más Que Nunca (We are United More Than Ever), “is an event that requires great planning, meticulous attention to details, with a luxurious lineup,” expressed Gustavo Ordóñez, SVP, Programming and Research at Univision Communications Inc.
Fernando “Chobi” Landeros, president of TeletonUSA, mentioned that this will be a very special year, since, along with the live broadcast in the main cities-Miami, New York and Los Angeles- they will add eight more across the US. He recalled that TeletonUSA began six years ago and in 2014 they inaugurated the first CRIT (Centro de Rehabilitación Infantil de Teletón) in San Antonio, Texas that has already treated more than a thousand children and currently cares for more than 500 children in 44 states in the US.
For his part Alejandro Pimentel, Senior Project manager mentioned that this year, in particular, they are returning to the origins of the teletón with 28 consecutive hours of broadcast. There will be 27 musical performances and more than 500 people involved in the production.
“It is the first year we will be making stories with ‘remate’ (closing interviews) from different cities, Miami and Los Angeles in the studios, and through the route called TeletonUSA Cerca de Ti we will present stories from their origin in eight different cities,” they added.
