Univision Communications Inc.(UCI), a media company serving Hispanic America, is set to launch “Super X,” the latest Univision NOW Original series. The first episode will premiere simultaneously on the Univision Network May 20th at 5 p.m. ET/PT (4 p.m. CT) and on Univision NOW, a Spanish-language live streaming and on-demand subscription service. After the premiere, all 13 episodes of the series will be available on demand, exclusively on Univision NOW.
“Super X” tells the story of Alex (Axel Rico), an average guy who, after being struck by lightening while playing a video game, acquires the super powers of the hero in the game. But Alex’s real problems appear when he falls in love with Vicky (Michelle Renaud), his new neighbor.
“The premiere of ‘Super X’ builds on our commitment to making the best programming available everywhere our audience is,” said Eric Ratchman, executive vice president of content distribution at UCI. “As we continue to expand Original offerings, Univision NOW gives our audience the most sophisticated experience and the richest content on every screen, as is expected by a digitally-savvy community that over-indexes on mobile, digital video and social.”
The streaming service offers U.S. premieres of series never-before-seen in the country. Since the launch of the service, UCI has increased user experience with the introduction of Originals, while simultaneously expanding its library with 3,000-plus hours of available on-demand content, including local newscasts in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and San Francisco. Univision NOW was recently added to Roku, and is now available on AirPlay, Apple TV and Chromecast.
