Univision, Fusion to support the rise of the connected classes

By Juan Fernandez Gonzalez

Univision Communications Inc (UCI) and ABC-Univision multi-platform media company Fusion will be official media partners of the 2015 Social Media Week Miami to be held in September.

Under the theme of Upwardly Mobile: The Rise of the Connected Class, the conference will bring together social media talent, technology experts and media, marketing and PR influencers to discuss how technology is impacting the way we live, work and create in an increasingly connected world.

During the conference, Univision News and Fusion talent will host meetings and panel discussions on a variety of topics such as the importance of social media in news reporting, or how to reach and engage Hispanic digital media users.

“With the meteoric growth of social media on a global scale, no one in any type of business today can afford to ignore the billions of people who are socially active, or the degree to which social networks are impacting how we connect and share information,” said Mark Lopez, executive VP and general manager, Univision Digital.

“We have a great deal of local talent that we can support through a conference like Social Media Week Miami, where we bring the highest social media influencers and the most innovative brands, and facilitate international connections and opportunities for attendants,” said Lawrence Pedrosa, partner at Social Media Week Miami licensee Eventcrowd.
