MIAMI: Former Scripps Networks Interactive exec Sameer Deen has joined Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) as its new senior VP of Univision Digital.

Based in Miami, Deen will report to Isaac Lee, the president of news and digital for UCI and CEO of Fusion. The exec will be charged with establishing and leading the digital strategy to reach new audiences by enhancing the user experience across UCI’s growing digital and mobile portfolio, expanding digital offerings and maximizing digital-linear TV integration.

Deen was most recently the senior VP of multiplatform distribution and strategy for Scripps Networks Interactive. Earlier in his career, he served as director of new media for NBCUniversal and director of financial and strategic planning for NBCUniversal Networks.

“With his proven track record and new media-development expertise, Sameer is a highly valuable addition to our Univision Digital leadership team,” said Lee. “We look forward to working closely with him as we expand and enhance our digital offerings.”

“I am excited to be joining the leading Hispanic multimedia company at a time of immense growth in multicultural audiences,” said Deen. “I look forward to working with Isaac and UCI’s leadership to grow our audiences across platforms.”
