ViX, TelevisaUnivision’s large-scale Spanish-language streaming service, is celebrating National Mexican Film Day this August 15 and extending the celebration through the rest of the month with hundreds of titles and a channel dedicated to the best Mexican films of yesterday and today. These productions highlight the richness and diversity of stories born in Mexico for the world to see.
Since 2017, the National Day of Mexican Cinema has celebrated the cultural and ideological contribution of national film production and promoted industry incentives.
ViX seeks to recognize Mexico’s contribution to the history of world cinema by taking enigmatic characters such as Macario or Cantinflas, golden film icons such as María Félix, Pedro Infante, Sara García, and stories of our daily lives such as “Mirreyes contra Godínez” (Mirreyes vs Godínez), “Sacúdete las penas” (Shake Off Your Sorrows) or “Presencias” (Presences) to the farthest reaches of the world.
ViX currently has more than 500 hours of Mexican movies available free of charge on the platforms AVOD tier– from Cine de Oro (Golden Cinema) to the highest-grossing films of recent years and will continue to expand its catalog month after month. Before the end of the year, ViX+, the premium tier of ViX, will exclusively premiere 13 original films made in Mexico and will add at least one premiere per month during 2023.

Me casé con un Idiota (from August 24): Iñaki Palacios is the most famous actor in Mexico and Flor is a complete unknown. However, during the shooting of a film, the two begin a torrid romance that ends with a wedding. Flor realizes that she fell in love with a perfect idiot whom she mistook for the character in the movie, so she decides to leave him. Iñaki, however, does not give up and, together with the screenwriter of the movie he stars in, will devise a plan to get back the love of his life. Las Vocales (from August 31): The story of Claudia, a single mother who gets her son Chuchín accepted into one of the best and most exclusive schools in the country. There they will face, without knowing it, “The Vocals”, a group of “perfect” mothers who will make their lives impossible, and who will start a very different academic year at the school. For the remainder of 2022, ViX+ will premiere around 13 original Mexican films, including: “Presencias” directed by Luis Mandoki and starring: Alberto Amman and featuring Yalitza Aparicio; and “Quiero tu Vida” [I Want Your Life], produced by Salma Hayek Pinault’s Ventanarosa Productions and starring: Erik Elías, Zuria Vega and Bárbara del Regil.
With all these Mexican films, ViX and ViX+ seek not only to honor and be present in Mexican culture, but also to bring it to all Spanish-speaking territories.

ViX apuesta por el cine local y celebra el Día Nacional del Cine Mexicano con cientos de películas disponibles en el servicio
- El servicio de streaming ofrece a partir de este mes más de 500 horas de cine mexicano de ayer y hoy, en su mayoría gratis.
- Antes de terminar el año, ViX+ estrenará en exclusiva 13 películas originales hechas en México.
ViX, el servicio a gran escala de streaming en español de TelevisaUnivision, celebra el Día Nacional del Cine Mexicano este 15 de agosto y extiende la celebración todo el mes con una oferta de cientos de títulos y un canal dedicado a las mejores películas mexicanas de ayer y hoy. Estas producciones enaltecen la riqueza y diversidad de historias que nacen de México para el mundo.
El Día Nacional del Cine Mexicano se celebra desde 2017 gracias a la aprobación unánime de la LXIII Legislatura del Senado mexicano con el objetivo de reconocer la contribución cultural e ideológico de la producción cinematográfica nacional, así como promover estímulos para la industria.
La celebración en ViX busca reconocer el aporte de México en la historia del cine mundial llevando hasta al más lejano lugar a personajes enigmáticos como Macario o Cantinflas, íconos del cine de oro como María Félix, Pedro Infante, Sara García, e historias de nuestro día a día como: “Mirreyes contra Godínez”, “Sacúdete las penas” o “Presencias”.

Flor se da cuenta de que se enamoró de un perfecto idiota al que confundió con el personaje de la película, por lo que decide dejarlo. Iñaki, sin embargo, no se da por vencido y, junto a la guionista de la película que protagoniza, ideará un plan para recuperar al amor de su vida.

Allí se enfrentarán, sin saberlo, a “Las Vocales” un grupo de madres “perfectas” que les harán la vida imposible y que darán inicio a un ciclo escolar muy distinto en el Colegio.
