The Young-adult Action-Horror-Comedy Series is Inspired by the Fascinating Story of the Mummies of Guanajuato, One of the Largest Collections of Mummies in the World
“Pinches Momias,” the first scripted series under the first-look deal between TelevisaUnivision and Propagate Fuego, began filming in Mexico City. The original production will land on ViX+, the Spanish-language subscription streaming service set to launch in July.
Propagate Fuego, Propagate’s recently launched Spanish-language division, and Perro Azul are producing the project. The action-horror-comedy series was created by Santiago Limón and Jose Miguel Nuñez, with Limón serving as director and showrunner. Ben Silverman (“The Office,” “Jane the Virgin,” “Ugly Betty”), Howard T. Owens, and Rodney Ferrell are the executive producers for Propagate Fuego.

The story of “Pinches Momias” is rooted in Mexican history and folklore around the Mummies of Guanajuato, one of the most fascinating collections of mummies in the world. The series follows a group of troubled teenagers from Guanajuato who become their town’s only hope to survive, when its renowned mummies come back from the dead during the busiest week of the year. The original production features esteemed Mexican actors Rafael Inclán, Luis Fernando Peña, Carlos Aragón and Diana Bovio alongside a talented young cast including Xiunel Gonzalez, Daniel Abrego, Rogelio Cruz, Saak Figueroa Bórquez, Berenice Jonguitud, and Laura Wedel.

As part of the recently launched ViX, the largest Spanish-language streaming service will feature a premium subscription-based (SVOD) ViX+ tier with more than 10,000 hours of content, including more than 50 original series and movies in its first year. “Pinches momias”, la primera serie de Propagate Fuego para ViX+ de TelevisaUnivision, inició grabaciones en Ciudad de México
La serie de acción, terror y comedia para adultos jóvenes está inspirada en la fascinante historia de las Momias de Guanajuato, una de las más extensas colecciones de momias en el mundo
“Pinches Momias”, la primera serie bajo el acuerdo de acceso preferencial (first look) entre TelevisaUnivision y Propagate Fuego, inició grabaciones en Ciudad de México. La producción original saldrá en ViX+, el servicio de streaming en español con suscripción que se tiene programado lanzar en julio.
Propagate Fuego, la recién lanzada división en español de Propagate, y Perro Azul producen el proyecto. La serie de acción, terror y comedia fue creada por Santiago Limón y José Miguel Núñez, y Limón es su director y showrunner. Ben Silverman (“The Office”, “Jane the Virgin”, “Ugly Betty”), Howard T. Owens y Rodney Ferrell son los productores ejecutivos para Propagate Fuego.

La trama de “Pinches Momias” se origina en la historia y el folclor mexicano alrededor de las Momias de Guanajuato, una de las más fascinantes colecciones de momias en el mundo. La serie es sobre un grupo de adolescentes con problemas de Guanajuato que pasan a ser la única esperanza que tiene su pueblo de sobrevivir cuando sus conocidas momias resucitan entre los muertos durante la semana más ajetreada del año. Participan en la producción original los reconocidos actores mexicanos Rafael Inclán, Luis Fernando Peña, Carlos Aragón y Diana Bovio junto a un joven y talentoso elenco que incluye a Xiunel González, Daniel Abrego, Rogelio Cruz, Saak Figueroa Bórquez, Berenice Jonguitud y Laura Wedel.
