“Como Tú No Hay 2” Propels Univision To Victory Over ABC, CBS and NBC in the Weeknight 10 P.M. Hour Among Key Adult 18-49 and Adult 18-34 Viewers
Univision Captures No. 1 Broadcast Network Ranking from 9 P.M. to 10 P.M., Ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX Among Adults 18-34 with “Amor Eterno”
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of May 18, 2020 to May 24, 2020
- Univision captured the No. 2 broadcast network during primetime, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC and The CW for the second consecutive week with 267,000 Adults 18-34 and finished as the fourth most-watched network, ahead of CBS and The CW with 609,000 Adults 18-49.
- Univision increased its primetime audience from the comparable week last year among Total Viewers 2+ (+21% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+9% to 609,000) and Adults 18-34 (+18% to 267,000), marking the tenth consecutive week of audience growth.
- Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every single night last week among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the twenty-sixth consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+89% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+83% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+98% adv.).
- Univision finished the 2019/2020 broadcast season as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime for the twenty-eighth consecutive broadcast season with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+36% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+29% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+26% adv.).
- Averaging more than half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, “Te Doy La Vida” (651,000), “Amor Eterno” (795,000) and “Como Tu No Hay 2” (777,000) positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network with double-to-triple digit audience advantages over Telemundo during the respective weeknight hours of 8 p.m. (+45% adv.), 9 p.m. (+112% adv.) and 10 p.m. (+169% adv.).
- Airing weeknights at 8 p.m., “Te Doy La Vida” delivered 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 651,000 Adults 18-49 and 294,000 Adults 18-34 and propelled Univision to a second-place finish on broadcast television for the second consecutive week, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC and The CW with Adults 18-34. The series also averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+41% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+45% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+54% adv.) than Telemundo’s “Cennet.”
- For the fourth consecutive week, Univision captured the No. 1 broadcast network ranking in the Monday through Friday 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot, ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-34 with “Amor Eterno.” The Turkish novela averaged doubled the audience levels of Telemundo’s “100 Dias Para Enamorarnos” with 2.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 795,000 Adults 18-49 and 362,000 Adults 18-34.
- Univision’s “Como Tu No Hay 2” attracted 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 777,000 Adults 18-49 and 346,000 Adults 18-34, making it the top-rated broadcast network, out-delivering ABC, CBS and NBC in the weeknight 10 p.m. hour with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The romantic comedy also drew in nearly three times more Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 than Telemundo’s “La Reina Del Sur II Edicion Especial.”
- On every single weeknight last week, Univision’s “Te Doy La Vida,” “Amor Eterno” and “Como Tú No Hay 2” ranked within the top 5 programs on all of broadcast television with more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “The Baker and The Beauty” and “To Tell The Truth;” CBS’ “Broke,” “Man With a Plan” and “S.W.A.T;” NBC’s “Celebrity Escape Room” and “Songland;” FOX’s “Labor of Love” as well as The CW’s “Burden of Truth,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “DC’s Stargirl,” “In The Dark,” “Roswell New Mexico” and “The Hundred.”
- With the movie presentation of “No Se Aceptan Devoluciones,” Univision finished among the top-rated broadcast networks for the entire night on Sunday, ahead of ABC, NBC and The CW with Adults 18-34 and ahead of NBC and The CW with Adults 18-49. “No Se Aceptan Devoluciones” more viewers to the network’s Sunday 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot from that of the prior Sunday among Total Viewers 2+ (+39% to 1.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+28% to 476,000) and Adults 18-34 (+22% to 181,000) and ranked as the third and sixth most-watched program on broadcast television with the respective 18 to 34 and 18 to 49 demographics. The movie also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-to-triple digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+ (+113% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+83% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+94% adv.).
- Univision concluded the May 2020 Sweep period as the No. 2 broadcast network in primetime, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, The CW and Telemundo among Adults 18-34 while also finished as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the twenty-seventh time in any May Sweep with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+68% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+53% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+58% adv.).
