Univision Outperforms NBC and FOX on Sunday Night with “Pequeños Gigantes” Among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of March 30, 2020 to April 5, 2020
- Univision delivered double-digit year-over-year audience growth during primetime for the third consecutive week among Total Viewers 2+ (+21% to 1.7 million), Adults 18-49 (+26% to 680,000) and Adults 18-34 (+41% to 289,000).
- For the entire week, Univision finished as the fourth most-watched broadcast network in primetime, out-delivering NBC and The CW with 289,000 Adults 18-34 as well as the fifth-largest broadcast network, ahead of The CW with 680,000 Adults 18-49 and 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+.
- Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) across every night for the third consecutive week among Adults 18-34 and on five out of seven nights among Adults 18-49.
- Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the nineteenth consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+56% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+42% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+46% adv.).
- Monday through Friday, Univision increased its weeknight primetime audience among Total Viewers 2+ (+2% to 1.8 million), Adults 18-49 (+5% to 750,000) and Adults 18-34 (+3% to 319,000), positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+59% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+52% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+55% adv.).
- At 8 p.m., “Rosa de Guadalupe” attracted 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+, 787,000 Adults 18-49 and 351,000 Adults 18-34 and made Univision a top-rated broadcast network in the 8 p.m. hour, ahead of ABC, NBC and The CW among Adults 18-34. The series also out-delivered Telemundo’s “Exatlón Estados Unidos” by +28% among Total Viewers 2+, +40% among Adults 18-49 and +53% among Adults 18-34.
- At 9 p.m., “Amor Eterno” averaged its highest weekly audience levels in the Turkish novela’s overall run thus far with week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+3% to 2.1 million), Adults 18-49 (+3% to 835,000) and Adults 18-34 (+2% to 349,000). It also drove Univision to the No. 2 broadcast network ranking in the Monday through Friday 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC and The CW among Adults 18-34. “Amor Eterno also attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+102% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+69% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+57% adv.) than Telemundo’s “La Doña II.”
- At 10 p.m., “Sin Miedo a la Verdad” delivered its highest-rated weekly performance in the series’ overall run thus far with 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+ and 554,000 Adults 18-49. It also outperformed Telemundo’s “Operacion Pacifico” in the weeknight 10 p.m. hour by double-digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+45% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+31% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+37% adv.).
- On Sunday night, Univision outperformed NBC and FOX during the 7 p.m. hour among Adults 18-49 and Adult 18-34 with “Aquí y Ahora,” which averaged 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 592,000 Adults 18-49 and 217,000 Adults 18-34. The primetime news magazine increased its audience week-over-week among Adults 18-49 (+8%) and Adults 18-34 (+5%) and out-delivered the first hour of Telemundo’s movie presentation of “The Expendables” by +79% among Adults 18-49 and +62% among Adults 18-34.
- Sunday night’s airing of “Pequeños Gigantes” attracted 2.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 721,000 Adults 18-49 and 318,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision as the No. 3 broadcast network, out-delivering NBC, FOX and The CW during the 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot as well as for the entire night with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The reality competition series also finished within the top 5 most-watched program on broadcast television among Adults 18-34 and propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo during the 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot (+58% adv.) and for the entire night (+49% adv.) with the key Adult 18-49 demographic.
