Univision Finishes Among the Top 5 Broadcast Networks for the Third Straight Week, and Beats at Least One Major English-Language Network on All Seven Nights, among Adults 18-34
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of May 27, 2019 to June 02, 2019
- On Sunday night, Univision ranked as the No. 3 Broadcast network, ahead of FOX, CBS, The CW and Telemundo among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Univision delivered more Total Viewers 2+ than FOX, The CW and Telemundo for the entire night. Additionally, Univision finished as the No. 1 Spanish-language network with double to triple-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The network also grew its Sunday night audience by double-digit margins versus the same night in 2018 with Total Viewers 2+ (+59%), Adults 18-49 (+48%) and Adults 18-34 (+35%) as well as increasing its Total Viewers 2+ average by +10% over prior Sunday.
- At 7pm, “Aqui y Ahora” featured the full interview between Jorge Ramos and Venezuelan Ruler Nicolas Maduro, titled “La Entrevista: Censurada.” Versus its previous Sunday airing, “Aqui y Ahora” increased its audience among Total Viewers 2+ (+24% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+3% to 425,000) and Adults 18-34 (+20% to 177,000). The exclusive interview outperformed the first hour of Telemundo’s “MasterChef Latino II” by double to triple-digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+144% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+87% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+67% adv.).
- Airing from 8:00pm-10:00pm, the powerhouse kid’s competition season four finale of “Pequeños Gigantes” made Univision the No. 2 broadcast network, outperforming CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW and Telemundo among Adults 18-34 and delivered more Adults 18-49 than CBS, FOX, The CW and Telemundo. The broadcast also delivered more Total Viewers 2+ than FOX, The CW and Telemundo. “Pequeños Gigantes” also positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network, delivering two to three times more Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 than Telemundo in the time period. Since its premiere in March, “Pequeños Gigantes” has ranked as the No. 1 Reality Series in primetime among Hispanics, including Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, regardless of language. For the night, the kid’s competition ranked among the top 10 programs on broadcast television with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- Achieving its highest-rated telecast in the 2018/2019 season with Total Viewers 2+, “Cronicas” increased its audience from its prior Sunday night telecast among Total Viewers 2+ (+32% to 1.7 million), Adults 18-49 (+18% to 532,000) and Adults 18-34 (+51% to 209,000) in the 10pm hour. Versus its prior four airings, the program also reported double-digit audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+39%), Adults 18-49 (+17%) and Adults 18-34 (+47%). Head-to-head in the 10pm hour, “Cronicas” out-delivered Telemundo by double to triple-digit margins among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- On Saturday night, Univision finished as the No. 4 Broadcast network, delivering more Adults 18-34 than NBC, ABC and CBS with its broadcast of “Como Dice el Dicho” (120,000) and the encore presentation of the “Pequeños Gigantes” semi-finale (119,000). Both airings ranked within the top 10 most-watched programs on all of broadcast television and positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night, outperforming Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+6% adv.).
- For the third consecutive week, Univision finished as the fifth most-watched Broadcast network during primetime among Adults 18-34 (191,000), ranking ahead of CBS and The CW.
- Univision finished ahead of The CW in primetime for the 36th consecutive week since the start of the current 2018/2019 season with 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+ (+94% adv.), 471,000 Adults 18-49 (+125% adv.) and 191,000 Adults 18-34 (+165% adv.).
- Marking the third consecutive week, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime, out-delivering Telemundo by double-digit margins among Total Viewers 2+ (+15% adv.).
- Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language Broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on all of seven nights among Adults 18-34 and on three of the seven nights with Adults 18-49 last week.
- From Monday through Friday, Univision delivered 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 486,000 Adults 18-49 and 195,000 Adults 18-34 during primetime.
- At 8 p.m., “La Reina Soy Yo” attracted 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 509,000 Adults 18-49 and 221,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo’s “Un Poquito Tuyo” among Total Viewers 2+ (+53% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+62% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+59% adv.) for the second consecutive week.
- At 9 p.m., the premiere week of “Silvia Pinal: Frente a Tí” delivered 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 485,000 Adults 18-49 and 182,000 Adults 18-34. The bio-pic series averaged more Adult 18-34 viewers than CBS (+17% adv.) and The CW (+114% adv.) in the hour for the entire week.
- At 10 p.m., “Por Amar Sin Ley 2” averaged 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 464,000 Adults 18-49 and 183,000 Adults 18-34 during the week. The legal drama also out-delivered CBS by double-digit margins (+27% adv.) among Adults 18-34 during the week.
- Univision’s weeknight series, “La Reina Soy Yo” (221,000), “Silvia Pinal: Frente a Tí” (182,000) and “Por Amar Sin Ley 2” (183,000) delivered more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of CBS’s “Blood & Treasure,” “Whistleblower,” “Elementary,” “NCIS: Cases They Can’t Forget;” ABC’s “1969” and “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D;” NBC’s “Blindspot,” “A.P. Bio,” “Abby’s;” as well as The CW’s “Jane the Virgin,” “The Hundred,” “iZombie,” “Masters of Illusion,” “My Last Days” and “In the Dark.”
