Second Telecast of “Pequeños Gigantes” Delivers Double-Digit Week-Over-Week Audience Growth, as Univision Finishes Among Top 5 Broadcast Networks in Primetime For Entire Week with Key Adults 18-49

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of March 25, 2019 to March 31, 2019

  • On Saturday night, Univision captured the No. 2 broadcast network ranking for the entire night, ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX among Adults 18-34 as well as out-delivered ABC, CBS and FOX among Adults 18-49. The live coverage of the Liga MX soccer match between América and Tigres UANL drew in 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 587,000 Adults 18-49 and 216,000 Adults 18-34, making it the No. 1 and No. 2 program on broadcast television on Saturday night in the respective 18 to 34 and 18 to 49 demographics. Not only did the sports event tripled the network’s audience levels in the 9pm to 11pm time slot from the prior Saturday with both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 but it also propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Adults 18-49 (+40% adv.) and Total Viewers 2+ (+34% adv.).
  • Univision finished ahead of The CW during primetime for the 27th consecutive week since the start of the current 2018/2019 season and delivered double-digit week-over-week audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+18% to 1.4 million), Adults 18-49 (+23% to 548,000) and Adults 18-34 (+25% to 213,000). Univision also placed fifth among all broadcast networks for the entire week with Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers 2+.
  • Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on four out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.
  • Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+25% adv.) and Adults 18-49 (+11% adv.), marking the 22nd consecutive week that Univision occupied the top-ranked Spanish-language network position across all Viewers 2+.
  • From Monday through Friday, Univision delivered week-over-week audience growth of +11% among Total Viewers 2+ (1.4 million), Adults 18-49 (544,000) and Adults 18-34 (206,000), positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during weeknight primetime and outperforming Telemundo among Adults 18-49 (+3% adv.) and Total Viewers 2+ (+20% adv.).
    • At 8 p.m., “Jesus” attracted 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 536,000 Adults 18-49 and 200,000 Adults 18-34. The epic series also drove Univision to a first place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantage over Telemundo of 10% among Adults 18-49 for the 13th consecutive week as well as +30% among Total Viewers 2+ for the 22nd consecutive week.
    • At 9 p.m., “Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia” increased its audience from the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (+6% to 1.5 million) and Adults 18-49 (+3% to 590,000). The dramedy also drew in more young Adult 18-34 (224,000) viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Black-ish,” “Fresh Off the Boat,” “The Kids are Alright,” “Speechless,” “Splitting Up Together” and “Whiskey Cavalier;” CBS’ “Madam Secretary,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Ransom” and “Seal Team;” NBC’s “A.P. Bio,” “Abby’s,” “Blacklist,” “Good Girls” and “Will & Grace;” FOX’s “The Cool Kids” and “Proven Innocent” as well as The CW’s “Arrow,” “Charmed,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “Dynasty,” “Jane the Virgin,” “Legacies,” “Riverdale,” “Roswell New Mexico” and “Supergirl.”
    • At 10 p.m., “Por Amar Sin Ley” averaged its highest-rated weekly performance in the current second season with week-to-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+8% to 1.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+6% to 507,000) and Adults 18-34 (+16% to 194,000). With more than half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, the series also outperformed such English-language dramas as CBS’ “Ransom,” FOX’s “Proven Innocent” and The CW’s “Arrow,” “Charmed,” “Dynasty,” “Jane the Virgin,” “Legacies,” “Riverdale,” “Roswell New Mexico” and “Supergirl.”
  • On Sunday night, Univision’s “Pequeños Gigantes” attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+26% to 2.0 million), Adults 18-49 (+32% to 762,000) and Adults 18-49 (+40% to 337,000) than its season four premiere telecast from the prior Sunday. The kids talent competition series averaged more Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 than The CW’s entire primetime original line-up (“Supergirl” and “Charmed”) as well as first-run episodes of CBS’ “Madam Secretary” and NBC’s “World of Dance” and “Good Girls.” “Pequeños Gigantes” also positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the second consecutive Sunday night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo during the 8pm to 10pm time slot (+46% adv.) and for the entire night (+29% adv.) with the key Adult 18-49 demographic.
  • For the second consecutive week, Univision’s “Aquí y Ahora” increased its audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+18% to 1.1 million), Adults 18-49 (+33% to 406,000) and Adults 18-34 (+33% to 155,000). The news magazine also out-delivered the first hour of Telemundo’s “Exatlon Estados Unidos” head-to-head in the 7pm hour by +9% among Adults 18-49 and +8% among Total Viewers 2+.
