Univision Delivers Week-Over-Week Audience Growth During Weeknight Primetime Across All Key Demos, Secures Top 5 Broadcast Ranking For 4th Straight Week

Supernatural Thriller “Amar A Muerte” Surges with Adults 18-34, Propels Univision with Back-To-Back Wins in the 10 p.m. Hour Among All Broadcast Networks

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of January 21, 2019 to January 27, 2019

  • For the fourth consecutive week, Univision finished as the 5th most-watched broadcast network during primetime, ahead of The CW with 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 560,000 Adults 18-49 and 221,000 Adults 18-34. This also marked the 18th consecutive week since the start of the current 2018/2019 season that Univision has out-delivered The CW in primetime.
  • From Monday through Friday, Univision delivered week-over-week audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+4% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+5% to 596,000) and Adults 18-34 (+11% to 242,000), positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during weeknight primetime with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+23% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+13% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+11% adv.).
  • On Friday night, Univision captured the No. 2 broadcast network ranking, ahead of ABC, NBC, FOX, The CW and Telemundo during primetime among Adults 18-34.
  • Univision also ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime, outperforming Telemundo among Adults 18-49 (+9% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+1% adv.) for the 4th consecutive week as well as for the 13th consecutive week among Total Viewers 2+ (+19% adv.).
  • At 8 p.m., “Jesus” delivered 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 553,000 Adults 18-49 and 208,000 Adults 18-34 while also made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network, outperforming Telemundo among Adults 18-49 (+1% adv.) and Total Viewers 2+ (+11% adv.).
  • At 9 p.m., “Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia” attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+5% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+6% to 594,000) and Adults 18-34 (+13% to 243,000) than the prior week. The dramedy also out-delivered Telemundo’s new 9pm series, “Jugar Con Fuego” by +19% among Total Viewers 2+, +10% among Adults 18-49 and +17% among Adults 18-34.
  • At 10 p.m., “Amar A Muerte” increased its audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+6% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+8% to 642,000) and Adults 18-34 (+18% to 275,000). For the 13th consecutive week, the supernatural series has averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+39% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+32% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+41% adv.) than Telemundo’s “Señora Acero V.”
  • Univision’s “Amar A Muerte” also positioned Univision as the No. 1 broadcast network in the 10pm hour on both Thursday and Friday night, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC and Telemundo with young Adults 18-34. The supernatural series also drew in more 18 to 34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Fresh Off the Boat,” “How To Get Away With Murder,” “Single Parents,” “Speechless,” “Splitting Up Together” and “The Rookie;” CBS’ “Bull,” “Madam Secretary,” “Magnum P.I.,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “NCIS: New Orleans” and “Seal Team;” FOX’s “The Gifted” as well as CW’s “All American,” “Arrow,” “Black Lightning,” “Charmed,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “Dynasty,” “Legacies,” “Riverdale,” “Roswell New Mexico,” “Supergirl” and “Supernatural.”
  • Sunday night’s two-hour airing of “Mira Quién Baila All Stars” attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+87% to 1.8 million), Adults 18-49 (+70% to 637,000) and Adults 18-34 (+88% to 211,000) to the Univision network’s 8pm to 10pm time slot from the comparable Sunday last year. The dance reality competition series outperformed CW’s entire original primetime line-up consisting of “Supergirl” and “Charmed” for the second straight week among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. “Mira Quién Baila All Stars” also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo in the time period (+37% adv.) and for the entire night (+18% adv.) in the last twelve Sundays among Total Viewers 2+.
  • Averaging over half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, Univision’s Sunday night news programs, Aquí y Ahora” (507,000) and “Crónicas” (546,000) reported audience gains of +15% and +32%, respectively compared to the prior Sunday. Both “Aquí y Ahora” (+15% to 188,000) and “Crónicas” (+12% to 190,000) also delivered week-to-week audience gains with the young 18 to 34 demographic.
