Third Gala Features Artists Singing in a Different Genre and the First Celebrity to Transform into a Music Star of the Opposite Gender
WEEKLY UPDATE ON “TU CARA ME SUENA,” UNIVISION’S NEW MUSIC COMPETITION

WHAT’S NEW:
“Tu Cara Me Suena” returns this Sunday with spectacular transformations and exciting performances. For this third gala, the musical numbers will get more challenging as some stars will get out of their comfort zone to impersonate artists from different musical genres and, for the first time, a celebrity will transform into someone from the opposite gender.
At the end of the last show, the randomizer picked the following performances for the celebrities:
- El Dasa, currently leading with an overall score of 19 points, will transform into rapper and global superstar Pitbull.
- Melina León (16 points) will take the stage as pop-urban sensation Karol G.
- Sandra Echeverría (15) will interpret cumbia artist Laura León, better known as ‘La Tesorito,’
- Llane (13) will impersonate pop-rock band Camila.
- Chantal Andere (12) will become pop singer Yuri,
- Gabriel Coronel (12) will delight the fans as Latin music idol Luis Miguel.
- For the first time in the competition, a celebrity will transform into someone from the opposite gender when Francisca Lachapel (11) recreates one of the memorable performances by merengue singer Elvis Crespo.
- Pablo Montero (7) will turn into legendary ranchera singer Vicente Fernández.
The judges Charytín, Kany García, Jesús Navarro, and Angélica Vale, will continue to evaluate the performances with the added challenge of not being able to repeat the score they give to each performer- they must rank the musical acts with a score from 3 to 10. Then, the celebrities will give two extra points to a fellow contestant of their choice. The winner of the night is the artist with the highest score.
The final scores will be added every week and the winner of the competition will be announced during the final show.
ON THE MOST RECENT “TU CARA ME SUENA” EPISODE:
The top performances included:
- El Dasa taking the stage as “El Divo de Juarez” Juan Gabriel. He won the night with 45 points.
- Melina León, who rocked the stage impersonating the queen of rock Alejandra Guzmán received a total of 41 points.
- Chantal Andere finished in third place after turning into pop-rock singer Gloria Trevi obtaining 32 points.
- Llane performed from home as urban artist J Balvin. He also received a video message from the global icon wishing him good luck with the performance.
- The night’s winner, El Dasa, received $5,000 for the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA).
A co-production of Univision and Endemol Shine Boomdog, “Tu Cara Me Suena” is hosted by Rafael Araneda and Ana Brenda Contreras, and Amara La Negra is the backstage host.

NOVEDADES:
“Tu Cara Me Suena” regresa este domingo con transformaciones espectaculares y emocionantes actuaciones. Para esta tercera gala, los números musicales se pondrán más difíciles, ya que algunas de las estrellas dejarán su zona de confort para personificar a artistas de otros géneros musicales y, por primera vez, una celebridad se transformará en alguien del sexo opuesto.
Al final del programa más reciente, el randomizer seleccionó las siguientes actuaciones para las celebridades:
- El Dasa, quien es el actual líder con un puntaje general de 19 puntos, se transformará en el rapero y superestrella internacional Pitbull.

Los miembros del jurado Charytín, Kany García, Jesús Navarro y Angélica Vale continuarán evaluando los números con el desafío adicional de no poder repetir el puntaje que le dan a cada artista; deberán calificar los actos musicales con puntajes del 3 al 10. Luego las celebridades otorgarán dos puntos adicionales al concursante que quieran. El ganador de la noche será el artista con el más alto puntaje.
Los puntajes finales se sumarán cada semana, y se anunciará al ganador de la competencia en el último show.
