NEW YORK – JANUARY 31, 2020 – Univision New York, the leading Spanish-language news station serving New York, New Jersey and Connecticut for over fifty years, is expanding its weather team. Starting February 1st, Stephanie Vies will join the station’s existing team of weather anchors to elevate the on-air weather content as well as on the station’s digital and social media platforms.
Vies will join the “Noticias 41 A Las 6PM” and “Noticias 41 Solo a las Once” evening broadcasts as weather anchor. Additionally, she will also work on special weather-related reports throughout the year via the station’s cutting-edge studio technology which was first unveiled in early 2019.
“Weather is one of our audience’s most important priorities and we are excited to add Stephanie to our strong roster of weather anchors. She will enhance our weather coverage by going beyond forecasts and breaking news to also provide our audience with the necessary context surrounding the ongoing climate issues affecting our state and region,” said Esteban Creste, VP of News at Univision New York.

A native of Belgium, Vies speaks five languages and has a degree in International Relations from The City College of New York as well as a weather forecasting certificate from Penn State University. Vies was most recently at NY1 Noticias where she served as a field producer before moving into on-air reporting for eight years.

Univision Nueva York Expande la Cobertura Local del Tiempo, Incorpora a Stephanie Vies como Nueva Presentadora del Informe Meteorológico
NUEVA YORK –31 DE ENERO DE 2020– Univision Nueva York, la principal estación de noticias en español al servicio de Nueva York, Nueva Jersey y Connecticut durante más de 50 años, está ampliando su equipo dedicado al tiempo. A partir del 1 de febrero, Stephanie Vies se incorporará al actual equipo de presentadores del informe del tiempo de la estación para elevar el contenido sobre el clima que trasmite, como también en las plataformas digitales y sociales.
Vies se une a las trasmisiones vespertinas y nocturnas de fin de semana “Noticias 41 a las 6PM” y “Noticias 41 solo a las once” como presentadora del tiempo. Además trabajará en reportajes especiales relacionados al tiempo durante todo el año con la tecnología de vanguardia de la estación, que se presentó a inicios de 2019.

Vies, oriunda de Bélgica, Vies habla cinco idiomas y tiene un grado en Relaciones Internacionales de The City College of New York, además de un certificado de pronóstico del tiempo de Penn State University. Vies recientemente trabajó en NY1 Noticias, donde se desempeñó como productora en el terreno antes de ser reportera en el aire durante ocho años.
