WHAT: Univision announces the premiere of “Silvia Pinal, Frente a Ti” (Silvia Pinal: Up Close), a bio-series inspired by the provocative life story of the acclaimed actress and producer who flourished during the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema. Internationally recognized actress Itatí Cantoral portrays the title role of Silvia Pinal in the series which is set to premiere on Monday, May 27 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT (8:00 p.m. CT).
The bio-series, set in the ’50s and ’60s, follows her life and career from her early days in Cuernavaca, where she dreams of becoming an actress, through her struggles performing Musical theater in Mexico City, to her rise to fame in the movies. “Silvia Pinal, Frente a Ti” gives audience a unique look at the life of the acclaimed actress, her ups and downs, her tormented relationship with her biological father, Moisés Pasquel, and her venture into her country’s politics.
