Carlos Vives and Myke Towers Confirmed for Standout Performances at Premios Juventud, With Vives Joining Grupo Niche and Sergio George and Towers Debuting a Live Medley from His Latest Album.
MIAMI – September 3, 2025 – Premios Juventud announced today that Colombian music icon Carlos Vives and global urban music star Myke Towers will be recognized as this year’s “Agents of Change.” This honor celebrates their unwavering commitment to social impact, community development, and cultural preservation throughout Latin America. The awards show, which will broadcast live from Panama City on Thursday, September 25 at 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT on Univision, UNIMÁS, Galavisión, and ViX, will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by showcasing the rich culture and talent of Latin America from one of its most dynamic cities.
Carlos Vives is being celebrated for his decades-long dedication to cultural and community development across Colombia and Latin America. Through his “Tras La Perla Foundation,” Carlos Vives leads sustainable initiatives aimed at bettering education, wellness, and environmental conservation in Santa Marta and its surrounding areas. The foundation strongly emphasizes preserving Afro-Colombian and Indigenous heritage, working towards building an inclusive and resilient social model.
Myke Towers will receive this distinction for his impactful work with the “Young Kingz Foundation,” a nonprofit organization focused on empowering vulnerable communities, particularly in Puerto Rico and Latin America. The foundation’s mission includes improving access to sports, education, and personal growth initiatives, leaving a legacy for future generations. In 2024, the Foundation restored seven boxing gyms in partnership with the Municipality of San Juan. This year, they will launch the “Quintana Soccer Club,” a pilot program combining soccer training with nutrition and personal growth opportunities and will expand youth programs through a collaboration with DV7 Group across Puerto Rico, Spain, New York, and Latin America. Ongoing efforts include providing scholarships, supporting international tournaments, organizing clinics with football legends, and hosting the Quintana Champions League, a youth tournament broadcast live, along with continued support for national basketball teams and other social initiatives.
Carlos Vives will perform on the Premios Juventud stage alongside the legendary Grupo Niche, delivering a new salsa rendition of his classic “La Tierra del Olvido.” Together, they promise one of the night’s most anticipated and impactful performances, followed by an electrifying surprise collaboration with Sergio George. Myke Towers also returns to the Premios Juventud stage to perform a medley. The set will feature his song “Degenere” along with other recent hits from his new album, “Island Boyz,” including “Soleao,” “Expectativas,” and “Tengo Celos.”

Este reconocimiento celebra su compromiso inquebrantable con el impacto social, el desarrollo comunitario y la preservación cultural en toda América Latina. La premiación, que se transmitirá en vivo desde Ciudad de Panamá el jueves 25 de septiembre a las 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT por Univision, UNIMÁS, Galavisión y ViX, celebrará el Mes de la Herencia Hispana destacando la rica cultura y el talento de América Latina desde una de sus ciudades más dinámicas.
Carlos Vives será homenajeado por su dedicación de décadas al desarrollo cultural y comunitario en Colombia y América Latina. A través de su “Fundación Tras La Perla”, lidera iniciativas sostenibles enfocadas en mejorar la educación, el bienestar y la conservación del medio ambiente en Santa Marta y sus alrededores. La fundación pone un fuerte énfasis en la preservación del legado afrocolombiano e indígena, trabajando por construir un modelo social inclusivo y resiliente.
