UNIVISION BETS ON TURKISH DRAMA WITH THE PREMIERE OF KARSU,
A MOTHER’S STRENGTH, ON MAY 13TH DURING PRIMETIME
MIAMI – April 28, 2024 – Turkish soap operas return to Univision’s prime time with a new and moving story that promises to touch the hearts of the Hispanic audience. A year after the finale of the successful drama “Mujer” (Woman), Univision is once again betting on a Turkish production in its primetime lineup with “Karsu, la fuerza de una madre” (Karsu, a Mother’s Strength), starring Özge Özpirinçci, the beloved face who brought Bahar to life in “Mujer.”
The premiere is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13th at 9 PM Eastern/8 PM Central, taking the place of “Las hijas de la señora García” (Mrs. García’s Daughters), which is entering its final weeks.
“Karsu, la fuerza de una madre” narrates the heartbreaking journey of Karsu (Özpirinçci), a mother trapped in an abusive marriage who lives dedicated to the well-being of her three children. When she decides to send one of her children to spend a few days with his grandmother in Istanbul, confident that he would be in safe hands, the unexpected happens, the worst nightmare a mother can face: fate takes away what she cherishes most; her little one disappears due to a moment of carelessness. Years of desperation and tireless searching lead her to a bittersweet reunion with him. Getting him back physically is not as difficult as getting him back emotionally. And while all this is happening in her life, Karsu will also have to discover her husband’s infidelity, causing her life that appeared perfect to completely fall apart. She has to get up and start from scratch, but she will not give in to difficulties and will draw on all her strength, not only as a mother to raise her children, but also as a daughter to repair a fractured relationship, and also as a woman, facing traumas from her past and trying to give her life a new direction.

UNIVISION APUESTA POR EL DRAMA TURCO CON EL ESTRENO DE KARSU, LA FUERZA DE UNA MADRE, EL 13 DE MAYO EN HORARIO ESTELAR
MIAMI – 28 de abril de 2025 – Las telenovelas turcas regresan al prime time de Univision con una nueva y conmovedora historia que promete tocar los corazones del público hispano. A un año del final del exitoso drama Mujer, Univision vuelve a apostar por una ficción turca en su programación estelar con Karsu, la fuerza de una madre, protagonizada por Özge Özpirinçci, el rostro querido que dio vida a Bahar en Mujer.
El estreno está programado para el martes 13 de mayo a las 9p/8c, ocupando el lugar de Las hijas de la señora García, que entra en sus últimas semanas.
Karsu, la fuerza de una madre narra el desgarrador viaje de Karsu (Özpirinçci), una madre atrapada en un matrimonio abusivo que vive dedicada al bienestar de sus tres hijos. Cuando decide enviar a uno de sus hijos a pasar unos días con su abuela a Estambul, con la tranquilidad de que estaría en manos seguras, pasa lo inesperado, la peor pesadilla que una madre puede afrontar, el destino le arrebata lo más preciado: su pequeño desaparece por un descuido. Años de desesperación y búsqueda incansable la llevan a un encuentro agridulce con él. Recuperarlo físicamente no se le hace tan difícil como recuperarlo emocionalmente. Y mientras todo esto está sucediendo en su vida, a Karsu además le tocará descubrir la dolorosa infidelidad de su esposo, haciendo que esa vida que en apariencia se veía perfecta, se terminara de desmoronar. Le toca levantarse y arrancar de cero, pero no decaerá ante las dificultades y sacará toda su fuerza, no solo de madre para sacar a sus hijos adelante, sino de hija para recuperar una relación fracturada, y también de mujer, enfrentando traumas de su pasado y tratando de darle un nuevo rumbo a su vida.
