Miami, FL – March 25 – TelevisaUnivision proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of its Noticias Univision Digital Division that received five prestigious awards for excellence in investigative journalism and visual storytelling for the series Exposed (Campo Tóxico). The team earned a Gracie 2025 Awards, a first place in the Pictures of the Year International 2025 Awards, and three accolades from the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) – Best of Photojournalism 2025 Awards, underscoring its commitment to impactful, high-quality journalism.
The award-winning multimedia investigation, Exposed (Campo Tóxico), that reveals the hidden dangers of pesticide exposure among farmworkers in Florida, Michigan, and North Carolina. The series includes two impactful stories: ‘Born Without Arms or Legs – How Carlos Candelario Lives with the Consequences of Pesticide Exposure’ and ‘Exposed: Latino Farmworkers Risk Their Health Working Under the Threat of Pesticide Exposure.’ Through these stories, the voices of migrant workers including José Soria, Hortencia Ramírez, and Carlos Candelario who shine a light on the devastating health consequences of pesticide exposure and the urgent need for stronger protections.

El equipo obtuvo un Premio Gracie 2025, un primer lugar en los Pictures of the Year International 2025 Awards, y tres galardones de la Asociación Nacional de Fotógrafos de Prensa (NPPA) – Best of Photojournalism 2025 Awards, destacando una dedicación al periodismo impactante y de alta calidad.
La serie premiada, Campo Tóxico (Exposed), es una innovadora investigación multimedia que revela los peligros ocultos de la exposición a pesticidas entre los trabajadores agrícolas de Florida, Michigan y Carolina del Norte. La serie incluye dos historias impactantes: “Nacer sin extremidades – la vida de Carlos Candelario tras la exposición a pesticidas de su madre” y “Campo Tóxico: El daño de la exposición a pesticidas en los trabajadores agrícolas”. A través de estas historias, voces de trabajadores migrantes como José Soria, Hortencia Ramírez y Carlos Candelario revelan las devastadoras consecuencias de la exposición a los pesticidas para la salud y la urgente necesidad de una mayor protección.
