MIAMI (February 19, 2025) – Univision announced today that Premio Lo Nuestro will pay an emotional tribute to the iconic Mexican singer and songwriter of rancheras and boleros, Paquita la del Barrio, who left an unforgettable legacy in popular music. The tribute will be led by Pepe Aguilar, along with his children Leonardo and Ángela Aguilar, who promise a memorable performance that will celebrate the life and career of the beloved singer. This recognition of one of the most authentic voices in music will take place during the Premio Lo Nuestro broadcast on Thursday, February 20 at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT across Univision, UNIMÁS, and ViX.
Paquita la del Barrio, whose real name was Francisca Viveros Barradas, became an icon of Mexican music thanks to her unmistakable style and empowering, direct lyrics that championed women’s rights. With hits like “Rata de dos patas”, “Tres veces te engañé”, and “Me saludas a la tuya”, Paquita won the heart of the public and became one of the most loved and respected artists in the music world.
The tribute to Paquita la del Barrio will be performed by Pepe Aguilar, one of the most recognized figures in regional Mexican music, accompanied by Leonardo and Ángela Aguilar, who have successfully carried on the musical legacy of the Aguilar family.

MIAMI (19 de febrero de 2025) – Univision anunció hoy que Premio Lo Nuestro rendirá un emotivo homenaje a la emblemática cantante y compositora mexicana de rancheras y boleros Paquita la del Barrio, quien dejó un legado imborrable dentro de la música popular. El tributo estará a cargo de Pepe Aguilar, junto a sus hijos Leonardo y Ángela Aguilar, quienes prometen una presentación memorable que celebrará la vida y carrera de la querida cantante. Este reconocimiento a una de las voces más auténticas de la música se llevará a cabo durante la transmisión de Premio Lo Nuestro el jueves 20 de febrero a las 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT a través de Univision, UNIMÁS y ViX.
Paquita la del Barrio, cuyo nombre real era Francisca Viveros Barradas, se convirtió en un ícono de la música mexicana gracias a su estilo inconfundible y sus letras directas y empoderadas que defendían a las mujeres.
