MIAMI (OCTOBER 9, 2024) – As the most trusted news source among U.S. Hispanics, Noticias Univision is proud to host two upcoming town halls – one with Vice President Kamala Harris and one with former President Donald Trump – to give undecided Hispanic voters a critical opportunity to engage and pose questions directly to the next president of the United States.
The town hall with Vice President Harris will be in Las Vegas on Thursday, Oct. 10 and the town hall with former President Trump will take place in Miami on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Less than one month before the November election in what may be the only opportunity for voters to hear from the candidates in this format, these are unprecedented and informative events for Hispanics, and all U.S. voters.
Town hall details are as follows:
Broadcast: Both events will be pre-taped and will air nationally at 10:00 p.m. ET with Spanish-language translation on Univision. They will also stream on ViX’s Noticias 24/7 channel and be made available in English on Noticias Univision’s YouTube channel.
Format: Each town hall will last one hour, with three commercial breaks. Our news division has created a format intended to enable a diverse cross section of undecided Hispanic voters to bring their questions directly to the presidential candidates.
Moderator: Enrique Acevedo, an Emmy Award-winning journalist and host of Televisa’s “En Punto,” will serve as moderator for both town halls to create a uniform experience across the events. He will be a guardian of time, keep the rhythms, and highlight the questioners.
Audience: The audiences at the two town halls will consist of Hispanic voters who are undecided in the presidential contest. In our effort to create the most informative and balanced program, the audience will be composed of U.S. citizens from across the country, from many different walks of life. They will bring questions about a diverse set of key issues that they and their communities are facing and will have the opportunity to ask a follow-up question if they wish.
Fact Checking and Analysis: The Noticias Univision team will fact check and analyze the candidates’ statements following the broadcasts on “Edición Nocturna” at 11:35 p.m. On Thursday, Oct. 17, Univision will air a special at 7:00 p.m. called “Después de las respuestas” to recap the memorable moments from the town halls and provide analysis by our news team.
