Nine terrifying stories from the pens of the new Latin American masters of horror, based on the mythic 80s series
MIAMI – OCT. 27, 2023 – ViX, the leading Spanish-language streaming service in the world, announced today that LA HORA MARCADA (The Marked Hour), the new version of the horror series that impacted several generations, is premiering its nine episodes today, Friday, October 27. Users will have the chance to see the first episode free, while the rest of the series is available in full in ViX’s premium plan.
LA HORA MARCADA is an anthology series made up of independent stories and a collection of characters that will face not only supernatural creatures, fearsome monsters, mythic animals, and urban legends, but above all, the subtle horror that permeates the very experience of living. Established and promising young makers of Latin American horror breathe new life into the series, among them: Gigi Saul Guerrero, Andrés Beltrán, Adrián García Bogliano, Andrés Rothschild, Issac Ezban, Laura Casabé, Lex Ortega, Michelle Garza Cervera and Roque Falabella.
For this interpretation, the creators took scripts from the original 1988 series; the result is nine episodes that capture and update the essence of the original series for the 21st century, creating a visually unique universe for each chapter.
Developed by Laura Wills Dávila with Abe Rosenberg as producer, this version features scripts from Latin American writers such as Abia Castillo, Freddy Chávez, Josh Candia, Luis Reséndiz, Ramiro García Bogliano and Tomás Downey.

Episode 1 | LA VISITA (The Visit):
Clara, a young orphan, arrives at a convent run by Mother Aurelia, a woman who performs miracle cures. While trying to adapt to the strange place, Clara realizes that Aurelia’s powers hide a sinister truth.

Fabián, a young man who has just lost both his parents, moves to the mansion where his aunt Lili and cousin Isabel live. As the days go by, Fabián will notice that his relatives’ odd customs seem to suggest that they are something beyond human.

Episode 3 | SMOG:
Bea lives in a bunker built by her father to save her from the apocalypse that destroyed humanity. Her only company is a chatbox. Bea’s certainties will come crashing down when she discovers that the bunker is being stalked by something… or someone.

Episode 4 | LA MANO (The Hand):
A man named Maupassant arrives at the hospital after cutting off his own hand, convinced that the extremity is trying to kill him. Obsessed, a nurse named Rosario will begin to ask herself if what the patient says is true.

Episode 5 | LA BESTIA (The Beast):
Pipo, Pau and Mau, three young adults who spend their time making funny videos, visit a faraway town where a beast is attacking residents. When they arrive in the town, the jokers will discover that the beast is very different from what they imagined.

Inés, a young seer, is visited by Elena, a mother seeking to find out how her daughter died. After informing Elena that she can’t help her, a series of strange events begin to happen in the lives of Inés and her boyfriend, Manuel.

Episode 7 | EL PRIMER REGALO (The First Gift):
A young married couple, Lucas and Manu, await the arrival of their baby in an old apartment inherited from Grandma. As the birth approaches, Manu will realize that a presence in the building is expecting her baby as much or more than she is.

Episode 8 | HERMANAS (Sisters):
Victoria, a DJ with addiction issues, returns to her sister Fernanda’s house to make peace, but when she arrives, she finds that Fernanda is no longer the same person. The secret behind her transformation seems to be in the hands of her niece Dani.

Pamela, a teenager who aspires to become a famous ballerina, is invited to a ballet school run by the mysterious Madame Véronique. Once there, Pamela will learn that to achieve fame, she will have to pay a very high price.

MIAMI – 27 DE OCTUBRE DE 2023 – ViX, el principal servicio de streaming en español del mundo, anunció hoy que LA HORA MARCADA, la nueva versión de la serie de horror que impactó a varias generaciones, estrena sus nueve episodios hoy viernes, 27 de octubre. Los usuarios tendrán la oportunidad de ver el primer episodio de forma gratuita y podrán ver la serie completa en plan Premium del servicio.
LA HORA MARCADA es una serie antológica, compuesta de historias independientes y una colección de personajes que se enfrentará no sólo a criaturas sobrenaturales, monstruos temibles, animales míticos y leyendas urbanas, sino sobre todo al sutil terror que inunda la experiencia misma de vivir. La serie cuenta con a cineastas consolidados y jóvenes promesas del horror latinoamericano para darle nueva vida a la serie, tales como Gigi Saul Guerrero, Andrés Beltrán, Adrián García Bogliano, Andrés Rothschild, Issac Ezban, Laura Casabé, Lex Ortega, Michelle Garza Cervera y Roque Falabella.
En esta interpretación, los creativos tomaron como base algunos de los guiones originales de la serie de 1988; el resultado son nueve episodios que capturan y actualizan la esencia de la serie original para el siglo XXI, creando un universo visualmente único para cada capítulo.

Clara, una pequeña huérfana, llega a un convento dirigido por la madre Aurelia, una mujer que realiza milagrosas curaciones. Mientras busca adaptarse al extraño lugar, Clara se dará cuenta que tras los poderes de Aurelia se oculta una siniestra verdad.
