MIAMI, FL. August 15, 2022 – Univision will premiere on September 6 its new primetime telenovela, LOS RICOS TAMBIEN LLORAN, starring Claudia Martín (Amar a Muerte [Love to Death], Enamorándome de Ramón [Falling in love with Ramón]) and Sebastián Rulli (El Dragon [The Dragon] Vencer El Pasado [Overcoming the Past], Papá a Toda Madre [Awesome Dad], Tres Veces Ana [The Three Sides of Ana]). The first episode of the super production will air as a two-hour special event starting at 9 p.m. Eastern (8 p.m. Central) and will air in its regular time slot Monday through Friday at 10 p.m. Eastern (9 p.m. Central) on Univision beginning September 7.
Produced by Carlos Bardasano (La Mujer del Diablo [The Devil’s Woman], Si Nos Dejan [If They Let Us], Como Tu No Hay Dos [No One Like You], Rubi [Ruby), the story revolves around Mariana (Claudia Martín), a humble and feisty young woman who after being left alone and helpless in the world arrives by fate to the life of Don Alberto Salvatierra (Guillermo García Cantú), a business magnate and one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the country.
Mariana will meet the son of the tycoon and one of the most sought-after, Luis Alberto Salvatierra (Sebastián Rulli), who lives his own drama, but seduced by the charism and authenticity of Mariana, he will find the purest love.
But Mariana and Luis Alberto didn’t realize that, for them to be together, they’ll have to deal with Soraya Montenegro (Fabiola Guajardo), an unscrupulous woman who, blinded by hatred and jealousy, will do the unthinkable to separate them.
Recognized internationally as one of the most iconic dramatic works of all time, LOS RICOS TAMBIEN LLORAN is the story of a love that, although it goes beyond class distinction and social prejudices, it is marked by tragedy, jealousy, lies and even death.

The theme song for LOS RICOS TAMBIEN LLORAN is “Me reviviste” [You Revived Me] and is performed by international stars Lucero and Cristian Castro. Castro’s participation in this project is a nod to his mother, the great Veronica Castro, who played Mariana in the original version of the story in 1979.
