MIAMI – FEBRUARY 15, 2022 – Univision, the fastest growing major broadcast network in the U.S. in primetime, announced today the appointment of Ivan Shammas as President and General Manager of Univision Atlanta, Georgia, and Univision Raleigh, North Carolina, effective immediately. In this role, Shammas will oversee all operational aspects of both stations including marketing, community affairs, news, local and national advertising sales. Shammas will be based in Atlanta and report to Antonio Roman, Regional President, Eastern Region.
This move marks Shammas’s return to Univision where he previously spent 11 years as part of the original team that launched the WUVG Univision Atlanta station in 2002. He held various roles during his tenure including national account manager for Univision Atlanta and Univision Raleigh.
Shammas, a Spanish-Language media veteran, has over two decades of experience in station management and sales. He was most recently the General Manager of WKTB Telemundo Atlanta, a role he held since 2013.
Shammas started his career as an account executive for Cable Advertising of Metro Atlanta (now Comcast’s Effectv) where he sold cable airtime on Univision, Telemundo and Galavisión.
Univision Atlanta is the #1 Spanish-Language station among A18-49 and A25-54 in early and late news. Atlanta represents a noteworthy share of key target demographics with 865,000 Hispanics in the Atlanta DMA, 12% of the total DMA population (Census 2020). Raleigh as well represents a significant share of key target demographics with 394,000 Hispanics in the Raleigh-Durham (Fayetteville) DMA, 12% of the total DMA population (Census 2020).

Ivan Shammas, Veterano de Medios en Español, Es Nombrado President y General Manager de Univision Atlanta y Univision Raleigh
MIAMI – 15 DE FEBRERO DE 2022– Univision, la cadena de señal abierta de más rápido crecimiento entre las principales de horario estelar en Estados Unidos, anunció hoy el nombramiento de Ivan Shammas a President y General Manager de Univision Atlanta, Georgia, y Univision Raleigh, North Carolina, con vigencia inmediata. En este cargo, Shammas supervisará todos los aspectos operativos de ambas estaciones, incluidos mercadeo, asuntos comunitarios, noticias y ventas de publicidad a nivel local y nacional.
