Univision Outperformed ABC, CBS, NBC and Telemundo on Saturday Night with the No. 1 Program on Broadcast Television, “Rosa de Guadalupe,” Among Young Adult 18-34 Viewers

Univision Finished the 2017/2018 Broadcast Season as the No. 1 Spanish-Language Network in Primetime with Double-Digit Audience Advantages over Telemundo Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 for the 26th Consecutive Broadcast Season

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of May 21, 2018 to May 27, 2018

Last week, Univision finished ahead of CW during primetime with 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 509,000 Adults 18-49 and 217,000 Adults 18-34.

Univision also ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime for the twenty-ninth consecutive week among both Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-34.

For the third consecutive week, Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on four out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.

Averaging over half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, “El Rico y Lázaro” (576,000) and “Papá a Toda Madre” (588,000) positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo during the respective weeknight 8pm (+37% adv.) and 9pm (+18% adv.) hours, marking the twenty-ninth and twenty-sixth consecutive week that Univision outperformed Telemundo across these two time-slots, respectively.

  • Univision’s “El Rico y Lázaro” (243,000) and “Papá a Toda Madre” (254,000) also delivered more Adult 18-34 viewers than the first-run episodes of ABC’s “Deception,” “For the People” and “Quantico;” CBS’ “Elementary,” “Instinct” and “Ransom;” NBC’s “Taken” as well as CW’s “iZombie,” “Life Sentence,” “Supergirl” and “The Hundred.”

Airing weeknights at 10pm, Univision’s “Por Amar Sin Ley” attracted 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+ and out-delivered the first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as ABC’s “Deception” and “Quantico;” CBS’ “Instinct” and “Ransom;” NBC’s “Taken” and CW’s “iZombie,” “Life Sentence,” “Supergirl” and “The Hundred” among both Adults 18-49 (573,000) and Adults 18-34 (228,000).

Univision captured the No. 2 broadcast network ranking for the second consecutive Saturday night, out-delivering ABC, CBS and NBC among Adults 18-34. The three-hour airing of “Rosa de Guadalupe” delivered an average audience of 868,000 Total Viewers 2+, 365,000 Adults 18-49 and 187,000 Adults 18-34 to rank as the No. 1 program on all of broadcast television on Saturday night with young 18 to 34 viewers. The dramatic series also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+40% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+24% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+65% adv.)

On Sunday night, “Al Final Todo Queda En Familia” attracted 853,000 Total Viewers 2+, 376,000 Adults 18-49 and 164,000 Adults 18-34 as well as made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night, surpassing Telemundo by +16% in the key 18 to 49 demographic. Head-to-head in the 9pm hour, the family-oriented game show outperformed Telemundo’s “Luis Miguel, La Serie” by double-digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+46% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+32% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+70% adv.).

Univision’s “Crónicas” averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (878,000; +28% adv.), Adults 18-49 (361,000; +40% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (141,000; +48% adv,) than Telemundo’s “Don Francisco The Invita” during the Sunday 10pm hour while also finished within the top 10 programs on broadcast television on Sunday night with more 18 to 34 viewers than the first-run episodes of ABC’s “Deception” and CBS’ “Instinct.”
