2017 MLS All-Star Game Delivers 1.5 Million Total Viewers 2+ and 718,000 Adults 18-49

NEW YORK – AUGUST 3, 2017 – Univision Deportes brought soccer fans a heart-stopping faceoff between MLS All-Stars and record-setters Real Madrid last night while cementing its status as the ruling home of fútbol. Wednesday night’s clash out-delivered ESPN’S broadcast of “El Clásico” among Total Viewers 2+ (77%) and Adults 18-49 (55%); on ESPN2 among Total Viewers 2+ (649%) and Adults 18-49 (530%); and ESPN Deportes among Total Viewers 2+ (148%) and Adults 18-49 (119%).

The 9:00 p.m. ET telecast on the Univision Network with simulcast on UDN delivered 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+ and 718,000 Adults 18-49, making it the most-watched MLS All Star Game in the event’s 22-year history and marked, for the second time ever, that an MLS All-Star Game broadcast in Spanish-language outperforms the English-language broadcast.

DIGITAL HIGHLIGHTS

Univision Deportes delivered a full multi-platform experience broadcasting the MLS All-Star Game across Univision’s portfolio of networks including the Univision Deportes App (iOS, Android), Univisiondeportes.com and Univision Now. With 275,000 interactions, the MLS All-Stars vs. Real Madrid on Univision ranked as the second most social program of the day. The UDN broadcast of the game generated 117,000 interactions with 86% of Univision’s #SocialTV activity generated from Facebook.
