2017 MLS Homegrown Game to Air on UDN
WHAT:
Univision Deportes, the multimedia sports division of Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), brings fútbol fans the headline clash between MLS All-Stars and record-setters Real Madrid, the reigning UEFA Champions League winner. The 2017 MLS All-Star Game will broadcast LIVE on August 2 from Soldier Field in Chicago on Univision, with simulcast on UDN.
The gameday roster for the All-Stars includes some of the Fan XI players voted on to the team following a month-long online fan ballot. Among them are Chicago Fire’s Bastian Schweinsteiger and Nemanja Nikolic, New York City FC’s David Villa, Atlanta United’s Miguel Almirón, and USMNT Captain Michael Bradley. The All-Star roster is rounded off with stellar figures including Stefan Frei, Seattle Sounders Goalkeeper; Jelle Van Damme, LA Galaxy Defender; Hernán Grana, FC Dallas Defender; and Diego Valeri, Portland Timbers Midfielder. The action kicks off Tuesday night with the broadcast of the 2017 MLS Homegrown Game, a contest between MLS’s premier, young “homegrown” players and Chivas de Guadalajara’s Under-20 team. Coaching the MLS Homegrown Team will be Chicago natives Brian McBride and Mike Magee.
Univision Deportes will offer complete game coverage of the 2017 MLS All-Star Game starting at 9:00 pm ET featuring its team of soccer experts including Raul Guzman, Luis Omar Tapia and Diego Balado.
